I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
My son K was diagnosed with Asthma at 9 months old. It wasn’t the first time he suffered with his breathing, but it was the first time it was given a name. Having dealt with asthma my whole life I knew the first time my son started to wheeze that he likely had asthma. From the age of 4 months on every time my son would get a cold, his asthma would flare. It also became clear very quickly that when he struggled with both seasonal and environmental allergies he would have to be watched closely because he could very easily have an asthma attach at any moment.
When K was a baby they prescribed his a cough medicine. Less than a year later they couldn’t give him that medicine anymore because it was no longer recommended for children his age. As I began to look into it, I found that the US Food & Drug Administration actually ruled that cough medicine was unsafe for children under 4 in 2007. So really he shouldn’t ever have had it at all. It was frustrating though because I saw first hand how it helped him get sleep when otherwise he’d cough through the night. It was at this time that I began to look for natural alternatives and when he was 1.5 I found Zarbee’s.
The story behind Zarbee’s is not unlike my own story.
“As a father of four boys, my wife and I would do anything to make our children feel better in their time of need, but (in the past) struggled with the available options. This frustration over not being able to offer relief to my boys and my young patients (and their parents) turned into passion to find an answer. I discovered a compelling clinical trial showing dark honey was effective at calming coughs and sore throats in children and young adults. With the help of my test subjects (aka our four sons), I was able to create a great tasting, all-natural, vitamin-enhanced, safe and very effective product, Zarbee’s All Natural Cough Syrup, specifically designed to keep mothers from going insane!” Dr. Zak Zarback (Pediatrician and founder of Zarbees)
I started using Zarbee’s in combination with our asthma medication.
Zarbee’s works by utilizing buckwheat and other natural dark honey’s that naturally coat and sooth coughs and sore throats. Plus they added vitamin C and Zinc that help boost immunity. The children’s cough syrup is available in grape and cherry flavors and has a tangy taste that my K has never fought or been upset to take. The Children’s version is safe for children 12+ months, but they recently developed at baby safe cough syrup as well that is made with Agave instead of Honey. Both the baby and children’s cough syrups are Drug, Alcohol, Gluten, and Dye FREE!
I can’t use it on Baby D due to his FPIES, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to my friends. In fact I have. I have share Zarbees with all my mom friends. I really can’t say enough good things about the company and the products. They work, they are safe, and they are natural! Even moms who are pregnant or breastfeeding can take them without worry which is really great because there aren’t many products available for pregnant/nursing moms.
If you’d like to try this for your family (and I hope you do), please enjoy this Zarbee’s Coupon!
