Two months ago I went from the girl who hated to paint my nails because I didn’t like the smell or the chips to the girl who enjoys doing it weekly! What changed was I stumbled across a company called Julep.
Julep is a subscription based nail polish/cosmetics company where for $19.95 each month you get $40 worth of products delivered to your doorstep.
What got me intrigued was that the polish is free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP. Any time I can find a product that has less chemicals in it and is more natural I’m all for it! PLUS for each polish sold Julep donate a percentage of proceeds from the sale of every Julep Nail Polish to organizations that empower women. <— That’s cool!!
So I tried it, and I’m no nail polish expert, but I LOVE the colors!! Some paint better than others, but they are all gorgeous!
Check out my first box!
I have to tell you that top coat I bought as an add on in that box was AWESOME!! It’s called Freedom, and it is the BEST top coat I have EVER used!! I apply this over my polish and then cure it at my desk lamp (regular bulb, not UV) for 2 minutes and my nails look awesome!! Plus it helps ease away the imperfections from bumps that might have occurred after polish! My nails actually look like I had them done and not like I did them at home… at least from a distance! LOL I’m not the best polisher!!
So I was excited to get my second box. I like my Julep Maven May box colors a lot! They are SUPER pretty!!
When you sign up to get your first box for free you take a super short and easy style profile. You are then placed into a themed box such as “IT GIRL” or “BOMBSHELL”. My style profile is “CLASSIC WITH A TWIST”. If you don’t like the colors you can switch your box for that month to one of the others. I thought for this month since it was only my second month I’d see what my style profile came with. The two colors I got are Ramona (left) which is a super pale lilac color that is very close to being white. The second color I got for May was called Maddy. Maddy is such a fun pink/red color. Both colors only took 1 coat to look amazing.
This month’s bag also came with the new plie wand which is a tool that is supposed to help make polishing your non-dominant hand easier. At first I was a bit skeptical. I really wasn’t sure I’d like it…

Overall I’m really happy with my subscription and plan on continuing. I like that if I needed to save some money one month I can choose to skip my box. I also love the change they are making for June’s box. Instead of only being able to switch out box themes (example: Classic With A Twist for Bombshell), you can now switch out individual colors!! Pretty cool! Plus once you are a Maven all the colors are sold to you at a discounted price.
Want to get your first box free?
Follow THIS LINK to sign up. Use code FREEBOX! Then you will get to try out $40 of products for only the cost of shipping!!
Are you already a Maven? Let me know your favorite color in the comments so I can check it out!
This post is not sponsored. I pay for my own boxes, but like everyone who signs up I get a referral code that if someone signs up I get “1000 Jules”. 2000 Jules will get me a free box. As with everything on my blog I won’t recommend it unless I’m using it personally and enjoying the product!
