I don’t think that is nerdy – I think it is AWESOME I wish I was that on top of it with our money. I have never been good at budgeting. And I hear you about coupons. So much processed crap. 🙁 I wish they had produce coupons. They really need them.

I will still use them for my household products and go to cvs and get several things free by playing their shopper program.

I have a spreadsheet done for the 2011 and 2012. It’s broken down into paycheck and I have which cks will pay which bills and how it’ll affect the balance on credit cards. I have a separate block at the bottom of each check column for the money I put in savings. I ususally stick to it 96% of the time but I do overbudget on some things.

I’m really working on not buying a lot of little extras just because I made a little bit more money that check.

The less money you have, the more you NEED to budget. We have an envelope system. Everything has an envelope- groceries, dentist, etc. Sometimes I can only contributed $2-$5 per envelope, but it works.
