For walking in public, my other boys were pretty good, they stayed next to me, too afraid to even step acentimeter faster than me, lol. but jehzel he is different, he is an SPD child, he is a sensory seeker, he likes crashing, has vestubular thing going on, and seeks dangerous things, when we are out, he goes into the stroller. It is a safety issue for him, I try to let him loose, but he is only 1 1/2 and he really is not there cognitivity thinking skill wise to think this is dangerous, so i hold, him, and stuff. So its a tough one for me with him.

She squirmed and got mad when we picked her up, but I just made sure I held on tight enough that she would stay in my arms but not so tight that I hurt her.

1. Granted this goes against my question that I posted on my page since my toddler refuses to eat.. BUT when my 9 yr old was a toddler, our 'on the go' meals things like pizza & subs/sandwiches, he also liked mac & cheese and spaghetti.

2. Im not a fan of leashes either and refused to put one on my son and will do the same for my daughter. Have you tried talking to him? I talked to my son telling him that holding my hand kept him 'safe', I didn't scare him into holding my land, but I did talkto him about being safe and not getting lost.

Another thing I did once was we were in the store (wasn't busy at all, like crowded) and he wandered down an aisle by himself so I stepped out of his view. He didn't panic when he didn't see me, but when he saw me again, we talked about 'running away' and being 'lost' and he always held my hand after that.. Maybe it clicked at that moment!

Good luck mama!!

But he loves mashed potatoes and green beans!

I am having the same walking problem. I hope someone has some ideas!
