I adore Barefoot Books.  The are so creative, beautiful and fun to read. But also just as important they are durable, and put up to the creative uses a toddler finds for books other than just reading.

Barefoot Books are read quite often in our home.  We have some we keep by the bath for telling stories during tubby time.

We have others we keep in the nursery for night time tales to inspire good dreams,

And still yet others in our playroom bookshelf that get a lot of use. (And as we learn to be nice to our books, a bit of abuse too.)

Squish loves to read books with Me and his “BobBob” {aka Daddy}.  He could probably keep his “A-ma” {Auntie} reading to him all day if he plays his cards right.

Recently Barefoot Books sent us two new books to enjoy and review.  I was thrilled to be able to do this again, as we are still getting plenty of use from our last book review set.

I Spy the Sun in the Sky

Written By: Stella Blackstone

Illustrations By: Nicoletta Ceccoli
Set sail for a distant island with a young boy in search of a friend in this I-spy adventure. The rhyme and repetition encourage easy learning, and the surprise at the end will delight young readers.

Squish loved the colors and calm feel of this book.  We also enjoyed finding the images together and using our new words.

Bear in Sunshine

Enjoy the seasons with Bear, as he partakes in a different activity for each kind of weather. The rhyme and humor of the text help to introduce the concepts, and a two-page spread of the four seasons offers a recap at the end.

Squishy loves this book.  He likes seeing the Bear and “Growling”.  I love the size – I can stick it in my diaper bag or let him read in the back seat (Shown here with Auntie reading to him) and not worry about have something big and bulky with me.

I didn’t expect our review to have changed – Barefoot Books continues to score a perfect rating on the Squishy rating scale – Extremely Squishable.
