Dear Squishy… {WW}

Dear Squishy!!
Did you know you are turning TWO this weekend?? This Wednesday two years ago I was having painful contractions, and after being sent home from the hospital for not having regular enough contractions, the doctor sent me back when my blood pressure was too high. I can’t believe that just 2 short years ago I was checked into the hospital to meet my little man. After 26 hours of hard labor, you were born via C-Section. You were so sweet and squishy! At so BIG! 10lbs 2ozs at 38 weeks!!

Over the past two years you have changed my life in so many ways. I couldn’t imagine our lives without you, and the years before we had you seem so long ago. I swear it seems like your first birthday was just the other day.

You have taught us so much in these two years. Patience, the joy of the simple things in life, how to have fun in any situation, to laugh harder, to love harder, to be stronger, to have faith in the everyday, and that the best things in life truly are the things that money can’t buy.

Over the past few months you have exploded with words. You seem to say a new word everyday! Today it was turkey. Car, Bus, Yellow, Wherediditgo, Bunny, Lovetoo, Mommy, Fire Truck, Alligator, One, Two, Three, Water, Ball, Bubble, Choo-Choo, All Aboard, Vroom-Vroom, Movie, Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie, Ewww, Stinky, Potty, Bear, Elmo, Yo Yo (Yo Gabba Gabba), areyoualright, Okay, Yummy, and so much more!!

You love playing chase, you give the sweetest kisses (my favorite when it happens out of the blue), the best hugs, and there is nothing like the smiles after not seeing you for a while.  Not to mention the running hugs.  You are so kind-hearted, and try to help make your friends happy when they are sad.  You are learning to play together, and trying to share. (it is still hard for you at times.) You smile when you see “Babies”, and flirt with anyone who will give you the time of day.  You aren’t afraid of leaving mommy, and are very outgoing.  A charmer and a hambone to say the least!

Your favorite things in the world are Mommy, Daddy, Auntie, Bunny, Bear, Blanket, Music, Dancing Cars, Trucks, Helicopters, Trains, and Buses.  (Really anything that goes.)  You are stubborn, strong-willed, amazingly imaginative, and have the bluest eyes of anyone I know!

You are the most amazing thing I have ever done.  I will love you more everyday for the rest of my life.  You continue to be the reason I know God exists, and the reason I find love and life in everyday.  I can’t imagine what this next year will bring.  I know one thing for sure – with you, this year will be filled with lots of excitement and lots of love.  And I am sure lots of cars, vrooming, and zooming!  Who knows maybe a sibling for you, maybe not.  But regardless you will always be my baby.  Thank you for being you, and choosing us to be your parents!
