If Words Could Fly…
…I’d fly adage of sweet love on wings to my deployed husband.
…I’d send him reports of our family’s daily on-goings so he never felt so far away.
…I’d speed whispers of I love you and I miss you around the clock so he knew he was never out of my mind.
If Words Could Fly…
…I’d tell them to soar to my son’s side during dreaming slumber and direct his dreams to places of wonder and joy.
…I’d race them to skinned knees and bruised elbows and offer instant comfort until my arms could wrap around my son, and my lips could kiss the pain away.
…I’d deploy them by his side when I can’t be there to encourage him to do the best he can, and reassure him when life doesn’t go his way.
If Words Could Fly…
…I’d ask them to charge the air with hope, faith, and energy to help keep the “I Can’ts” at bay.
…I’d flutter daily reminders around to keep me on schedule, and allow the house to run smoother.
…I’d hang daily affirmations in the air to walk through and refresh me as I go about the days during deployments and give me more strength to get through my days without my love beside me.
If Words Could Fly…
…I’d rush support to the person whom no one sees, but really needs it. And to the child who feels like no one is watching or no one cares.
