This week was awful for me when it came to working out. Between the cold my whole family came down with, and my son’s bout with a stomach bug, let’s just say sleep didn’t even happen much less working out.
I have so many goals for March, that I am just really hoping to get this cold out of my system, get some sleep, and make my workouts my priority!
FYI did you know we lose an hour of sleep this week! BOO!!
This week I am hanging out with the Fabulous (and fellow FitFluential Ambassador) Tara Burner for her weekly Fitspo Friday Feature! I am honored to be included. I am going to tease you with one question here, but I really hope you go check out the rest of my answers, if for nothing else to see the fabulous sparkle dress I have made my goal dress!!
Head over to Fitspo Friday for the full post!
Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
A: Yes and No. I was an athlete from the moment I could move. I tried everything, but at the age of 6 I told my mom one day after swim-team practice I wanted to be a diver. We started lessons a week later. I dived as a junior Olympic diver, competed in high school, and then in college competed division I. I was pretty much in the pool 40 hours a week for nearly 20 years. I knew that food was fuel, and how to feed my body. I set regular goals and worked hard to achieve them.
(YES, that is me!!)
Post College, I was done diving for the first time in nearly 20 years, and floundered for a while. Then I met the love of my life, moved to Las Vegas, and had a baby. I thought I had to take care of everyone else first, and didn’t make fitness a priority. Soon enough I looked in the mirror and didn’t like who I saw. I was happy in every other aspect of my life, except with my weight.
In 2011 I realized I needed to make a change and started making fitness a priority again. I have now done my first 40 mile bike ride, and re-discovered a love of bikram yoga. I am also finding a new love for lifting weights!! 2012 is going to be my year. I still have a long way to go, but my heart is in it to win it!

I haven’t always lived a health lifestyle and that is a regret. If I would have known how good a healthy lifestyle feels I would have started a long time ago.

I didn’t know that about you! Thank you for sharing – I get so mad at myself that I let my fitness go as far as I did. But the past is the past right?! Thanks for the link up Jill!
