I have officially registered for my first 5k!
Ryno Running – The Las Vegas 5k!!
I get to run a flat course, which being super new to running, and actually having professed that I would never be a runner… (I am actually excited to eat my words on that one!) is good.
Plus you get to take your race photo in front of the Las Vegas sign! I have lived in Las Vegas for 6 years now and not taken my picture in front of the sign!!
I am using this 8 weeks to 5k training program.
So far I am only on week one, but I am feeling really great. What I like about this is that I am running to music with a voice telling me when to run and when to walk. In the past, I would get so focused on the minutes, so it is nice to not be able to even really see the minutes. I am also focusing on taking it slow. I know if the past I wanted to be running a t 6.0 right away, and my lungs would freak. Not this time, the only goal is to finish.
But the best part about this 5k? I get to run with my fabulous friend Danielle Liss. This is also her first 5k, and honestly the reason why I am motivated to finally cross a 5k off my bucket list.
