This Week’s Topic: Free! Share anything you want related to your toddler. It can be a picture, something you enjoy doing with your toddler, or a question you have for other parents!
By now you should know that my family LOVES books, I have shared many a post about children’s books we love, and my desire to create a reading nook for my son. But what you may not know is that my family also loves a good butt joke.
WHAT!? It’s natural. I live with two boys that may have a 32 year difference between them, but they both share the ability to laugh at butts, farts, poop, and all things in between. (Boys! – Okay, who am I kidding I laugh too!)
Back in the summer of 2010, I wrote about a book that my family still loves to read, and my toddler still roars with laughter to. The Butt Book was author Artie Bennett’s first picture book.
Guess what? Artie has done it again with his “Number Two” book – Poopendous!(get it… number two! LOL)
The reality is this! Everyone poops, and poop isn’t just for flushing. Kids of all ages love to talk about poop, and Artie creatively capitalized on that with his colorful, educational, and funny book Poopendous!
“Everyone poops—yes, it’s true—from aardvarks to the humped zebu.”
Artie Bennett, author of the award-winning and much-acclaimed The Butt Book, delivers the inside scoop on every type and use of poop in his “number two,” spanking-new picture book, Poopendous! In hilarious verses, with eye-popping illustrations by Mike Moran, Poopendous! relates the many, often remarkable uses of poop throughout the world while paying homage to its prolific producers, from cats to bats to wombats! Poopendous!, flush with fascinating nature lore, is guaranteed to keep young readers and even younger listeners riveted. So pick up your pooper-scooper and come along for a riotously rib-tickling ride. You just may agree that poop is truly quite . . . poopendous!
This book hits shelves on March 27! I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy for my family!!
You can find Artie at ArtieBennett.com for even more of the scoop on poop, as well as some fun butt-related stuff, including some fascinating butt trivia, words for the butt, even a classic butt joke.
(Disclosure: Artie Bennett reached out after I wrote about his first book to say thank you. When he reached out again to share news of his second book, I knew I would share it with my readers. I was not given any form of compensation for sharing his book. I did it because I think his books are unique, witty, and awesome!)
