My son started Camp Kidville three weeks ago, and he already has a favorite part! When I ask him what he did at camp, or what he is excited for at camp the answer is almost always the same!
“SCIENCE MOMMY!”
I love that even at my son’s early age Kidville puts value in science experiments at camp by having it as one of the main parts of the curriculum. Children are born curious, and as they get older that curiosity will continue to grow especially if it is nurtured.
Camp Kidville nurtures my toddler’s natural curiosity!
As a parent this makes me very happy and excited to see. I know that by doing science experiments in camp they are helping the children answer their own curiosity about everything they see, touch, smell, and hear!
I also love how basic the experiments are. The focus on fun in the moment and exploring, discovering through playful experiments. With projects like making snow, mixing baking soda with vinegar, and watching crystals expand, it is no wonder it is my son’s favorite part of camp.
Each week the experiments are repeated with a few changes such as adding color or glitter. This allows them to see and understand the process on a variety of sensory levels.
All experiments are non-toxic and the children are encouraged to get their hands dirty. What child doesn’t love getting dirty?! While you can do these experiments at home with your child, one of the things I am loving about having my son in camp is that he is not only learning himself but he is learning by watching the other children as well. Without fail every week someone does something with their experiment and then my son tries to do it as well. That is something he would miss out of if it was just us doing it at home.
I honestly don’t know which one of us is looking forward to seeing what experiments are coming up at Camp Kidville more!

I’m exploring camp for my kids and hopevto find one like kidville. A focus on science has numerous benefits, and you’re right, it does fulfill children’s natural craving to be in the “know”
OMG he is soooo cute!
This looks like a blast. My guy would love something like it. Love that your son has his Capt A costume on too…that would totally be my son. 🙂 Great review.
I agree science is always fun.
What a fantastic camp! Science is such an important thing to learn about – and like you said, every kid loves to get messy! It looks like a really great environment for children. I’m so glad he’s having a great time! If only Florida and Las Vegas were closer 🙂
How fun! Generally, neither of my boys like getting their hands dirty, but they always make an exception for hands on science experiments (not sure why, but I’m happy they do). I would have loved to send my boys to science camp!
What a fun experience! I wish there was something like this near us!

Very cool! I would love to do something like this with the girls. I bet Squishy had so much fun. This camp sounds awesome, now only if they were in STL.

What a fun experiment! Lots of sensory play! 🙂
I live in Iowa so I don’t need to make snow, but I kind of want to try the experiment anyway.
Science is fun and great! I love when parents really focus on it because I think it helps kids to dream more.
