I realize this post about celebrating firsts comes on the anniversary of 9/11. The truth is I am very aware of this day. This is the day that changed the course of my life. Today as we remember the too many lives lost may we never forget the sacrifices their families have endured. May we also never forget that for these past 12 years families all over have been saying too many goodbyes to loved ones as they deploy to continue to fight for our freedom. Our family is one of the families that have endured too many deployments. First via the Air Force and now as a civilian defense contractor. As a result I am incredibly grateful for all the first we continue to be able to have.

I will continue to be grateful for all the time I am given to be with my family and watch my beautiful boys grow.
