When it comes to supporting breastfeeding mothers Lansinoh is a company who really cares. I’ve tried other brands and time and time again I come back to Lansinoh because their products work. I’ve depended on Lansinoh products to help me through my breastfeeding journey with both of my boys. As much as I would like to use the re-usable breastpads for the first 6 months with both babies I leak SO much that nothing else has worked for me. Their HPA lanolin cream and soothies gel pads helped me fight the pain and cracked nipples that I had with both boys (both boys had shallow latches due to lip ties.), and after I got mastitis with Baby D their Thera-pearl 3-1 breast therapy pads were incredibly helpful.
When I realized that baby D needs to be on breastmilk a lot longer than his brother (who self weaned at 16 months), due to his FPIES I realized it might be smart to build a freezer stash of breastmilk. You see at 10 months Baby D is still only getting breastmilk. After our scary introduction to solids, and then finally a diagnosis of FPIES our allergist directed that we do not introduce any new foods until we go the hospital for a food trial. In the meantime Baby D is nursing like a newborn.
Since my original small stash of breastmilk all has dairy in it, at 8 months I started over, and turned to the Affinity Pro Double Electric Breast Pump to help me do that. I had another pump, but it was an open system and given all of Baby D’s health issues, the last thing I wanted to do was add to that with possible mold issues. (It had been 4 years since I reached for my pump and I had NO idea until someone told me I was to take the pump apart and clean it!) The Lansinoh Affinity PRO Double Electric Breast Pump is a mighty machine at an affordable price point. Coming in at $129 it costs way less than other double pumps on the market, and still does everything the bigger pumps do!
Affinity Pro Features:
- 3 pumping styles with adjustable cycle and suction to maximize milk production and comfort
- Innovative technology mimic baby’s natural feeding pattern
- Hygienic design guarantees no milk back-up in tubing
- LCD screen with timer to track pumping time
- Includes carry tote for on-the-go convenience
- Compatible with any hands-free bra
- Compact, lightweight base for portability
- ComfortFit™
I have say, I wasn’t expecting as much to come with this pump at the price point it is offered at so I was surprised to open it and find everything I did!
It took me a few days of pumping to figure out what pumping setting was right for me, but it was easy to play around with and once I figured it out I was able to get more milk in once pump session. Another feature that I really like and plan on using more with our next baby is that you can close off the tubing on one side to make the pump a single pump. The reason I like this is that I could actually pump while baby is nursing on the other side. It’s a little more tricky to do with a handsy 10 month old, but it really maximizes my milk production!
Every morning I sit with the Affinity Pro and pump away for 15-20 minutes. I have found for me I can actually switch back to the stimulation phase a few times to trigger extra let downs (a tip I learned from the Affinity Pro Breast Pump manual!) allowing me to really have an effective pumping session!
This Double Electric Breast Pump is super easy to assemble, use, and is very portable. I like that I can use batteries if I needed to take it on the road with me and not worry about having an outlet handy! Plus I am very grateful to have a pump that is a closed system so that I can be sure Baby D is ONLY getting breastmilk!
Lansinoh proves that you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on a pump to get the features you need and want. You can find it on Walmart.com and BabiesRUs.com where it is selling for $114.99 and $116.99 respectively! Such a great price for a great pump!

Wow! I didn’t realize you had so many allergy issues with your little guy, I’m sorry. I’m SO glad, though, that you have amazing products like this to help you get through this time! I remember the first name I heard at the hospital was Lansinoh – such a wonderful company!

I don’t breastfeed, but I can how beneficial this product would be for any breastfeeding mother. It looks a little more advanced than the ones I have seen.

Wow! That is a great price for all that you get! This would have been perfect for my sister in law… she recently had to stop breastfeeding because of work even though she had a pump (I don’t think her pump was that great). This may have helped!

That sounds like a terrific and much-needed product. However, I have to admit that I am happy to be passed the pumping days!!

Looks like a good pump.. I am almost done with pumping.. only doing it once a day right now. But my pump has been such an asset to have while breastfeeding.
