The year is almost over! Can you believe how quickly 2013 flew by? A few years ago I stopped making resolutions and instead focused on making monthly goals. Eventually this turned into monthly and yearly goals. It was something I wished I had done many years earlier instead of being disappointed by broken resolutions. As a result I stated interviewing my son on New Years Eve. I do this by asking him simple questions about his year, and what he hopes to accomplish in the new year. This actually has two pretty cool results.
- It leaves me with a yearly keepsake that perfectly captures him at this age.
- It teaches him to start setting yearly goals.
The first year I interviewed my son I just wrote his answers on a piece of paper. (2011 Interview – age 2.5) The second year I interviewed him I did it on video. (2012 Interview – age 3.5) This year I thought it would be fun to create a printable that I could use for years to come.
Now I can have one format for all his interviews for years to come. I can print them off and keep them together or I can edit them online yearly and add them to a yearly photo book that I create. Now you can do this too! To download this end of the year interview for kids free printable to your computer by clicking this link:
I can’t wait to hear how my son will answer these questions. I hope you enjoy using it with your family too!
Happy New Year!

As for me, I usually do a word of the year so I can keep in mind where I want to go in the next 12 months. 🙂
