Recently my husband and I celebrated our 5^th wedding anniversary. To celebrate this milestone we thought it would be fun to do five dates for our 5^th anniversary! Having two small children at home it is hard to find the time and to line up a sitter (aka grandma) to go out for date nights. So this is a real treat for us! Thanks Mom and thanks Bonefish Grill for a fun date night!

One of our date nights was to go out to the always-wonderful Bonefish Grill! This is one of our favorite places to go and hands down has some of our favorite appetizers! Bang Bang Shrimp is a sure crowd pleaser and yes, it tastes just as good as it looks! Others attempt to copy it but there is nothing like the real thing! Compliment it with a glass of wine, cold brew or one of their tasty cocktails and it’s a great way to get a date night started.

Since it is a special occasion I decided to go for it and get the surf and turf, filet and lobster tail all for myself! Let me tell you, the steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster just melted in my mouth!  This is definitely a new favorite for me! My husbands Fontina Pork Chop with a mushroom marsala wine sauce was so tasty it was hard to stop eating it! Don’t those green beans look perfect? They were! I could get a whole bowl of those on the side anytime!

What’s a date night without dessert? Since strawberries are in season I knew I had to have their strawberry shortcake and it was just the way I like it! It is made with more of a biscuit like consistency rather than angel cake, which to me gives it so much more depth and brings out the natural sweetness of the strawberries. The crème fraiche was wonderful and so refreshing from the whipped cream from a can you get most other places! I loved this dessert not just because it tasted divine but because it is one of those comfort foods that you grew up with but done in a way to please a grownup pallet!

Going to Bonefish Grill was the perfect way to kick off our five anniversary dates! Great atmosphere, great drinks, amazing food, knowledgeable staff; it was perfect! I highly recommend checking out the Bonefish Grill in your area for a nice night out!

• We went to a dueling piano bar – we had dueling pianos at our wedding.
• We enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise to remind us of our beach themed wedding.

How many of you local Las Vegas parents have been wanting a date night, but just weren’t sure how to make it happen?  I know that with the hubs coming home, I would love to have a regular date night for us.  Finding a sitter is hard, family isn’t always there, and I feel like I can only ask my friends so many times…

However, that is all changing!  Thanks to the new Parent’s Night Out Program at Kidville Tivoli Village, you your spouse can have that much needed break!

Kidville’s new Parent’s Night Out Program will start November 1st and run though December 20th!  During this time Kidville invites parents to drop their children at the facility each Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. while they explore the many shops and restaurants of Tivoli Village.

PLEASE NOTE: Children must be potty trained to eight years to participate in the program.

What is Parent’s Night Out:

During Parents’ Night Out, families can expect a clean, safe, fun and engaging option for evening childcare. The Kidville staff will host gym time, story time, dinner and an age-appropriate movie.  This program has been successful at many other Kidville locations around the world, I am an thrilled that it will be offered here in Las Vegas!

When:

• November:  1, 8, 15, 29
• December:  6, 13, 20

Details:

Cost is $25/child for non-members and $15/child for Kidville members. (This is much less than you would spend on a sitter, and your child will be engaged and entertained the whole time!) Space is limited, so RSVP is suggested to rsvptivoli@kidville.com.
