Megan over at a Ruffle in Time passed on the Blog with Substance award to me. Each time I get one of these awards I am pretty astonished; it really does mean a lot to me because it means someone may well possibly really read what I am writing. Which seriously still amazes me. Thank you Megan – you are such a great mother , and your little kiddos are seriously cute! Megan has posted some fun ideas for Halloween coming up, so if you want some inspiration, head that way! (I personally will be attempting the tulle wreath, which even though wasn’t her idea, I wouldn’t have thought of it unless I read her blog!!)

Wow the days sure fly by don’t they?? I know I missed last week. It has been really hard to keep up. Most of the time I post when I have an opportunity. (Which usually means when I should be sleeping…)

So I apologize for the lack of consistancy in blogging. I can’t promise it will get any better, because as the days go by, there always seems to be more and more to do. I will do what I can when I can. (Hmm, maybe I need to repeat that to myself daily when things just seem not to get done…)

I am taking a brief hiatus from my normal post-its to bring you a couple post its that recently became something I have a vested interest in. Over the past year I have been blessed to become friends with a wonderful and amazing mother. Her daughter was diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome at a couple months of age.

If you are anything like me, you probably didn’t even know such a thing existed. Please take a minute to read my post-its, check out the website, read her blog, and educate yourself. Knowledge is power, and awareness breeds action. Please bring more awareness to the most common known genetic cause of life-threatening obesity in children. Thank you.

Every child is a blessing, and she is one for sure. I look forward to many fun playdates with Squish and Mackenzie in the future. (And hopefully a couple more fun mom nights out too!!)

Post-its Galore!

So sorry for missing last Tuesday. Life has truely been crazy here. We are deserately trying to squeeze every drop of family time out before June comes. (Yes you read that right, Rob will be leaving sometime after Kellan’s b-day) Not to mention trying to get done everything we need to do before he leaves to the house, and ourselves. Rob is rushing around doing appointments for the VA, I need to get my teeth fixed (shuttering at the very thought of the dentist!!) And our backyard is hopefully going to be fully landscaped by June 4 (nervously laughing) for Kellan’s b-day party. Currently it looks like this:

Ok – so that isn’t our backyard – but you get the general idea! So basically I could use an extra 24 hours in the day to get done everything that we need to do. And once June does come, I hope to be able to update the blog more often, but mobile baby (who often doesn’t nap) + having my hubby home = very limited time for me to get everything done. I do what I can. And today I come bearing not 1 post its, but 12! Yes 12! Woot Woot! Enjoy!

(I was blessed to know of Elijah’s story because I frequent a baby messaging board. Her first child, a beautiful baby girl, was born I believe the same day as Kellan. I have followed her story from the beginning, and I truely believe it helped me to be a better mother. I pray their family has peace in these tough next days, weeks, and always.)

My little Squishapillar was full of crazy energy today. He is crawling, diving, grabbing, jumping, squirming, tossing, wiggling, and any other possible movement he can manage. And on top of that he took very short naps… so while we enjoyed playing all day, this is all I could come up with before I go crash into my super comfy bed!

(although I have to say playing with my baby is way more fun then blogging post its ever could be!)

Post it Tuesday & More!

Thing have been busy around here, (as per usual!). But busy also means fun in this house. On Saturday Kellan’s friend Finn came over to play while his Mommy and Daddy went to a movie. (We are currently trading date nights!) It was fun to have two babies crawling around and being silly. Neither of them wanted to take a nap because they were having so much fun playing. Finally we went out for a walk, and that seemed to do the trick for both boys. Rob and I very much enjoyed spending the day playing with them. Although I must say, two is definetly more tiring then one! Next time it will be our turn for a date.

I have to say, it is really nice to know that Kellan will be having fun with people he likes, (and we trust) while we are out enjoying our time as a married couple. I am very grateful to have found friends through my Mommy groups and other baby ventures. I know that if we needed to go somewhere last minute we have friends we could feel comfortable leaving Kellan with. It is also nice to know that even though I have made several ‘mommy’ friends there are also some real friendships forming there outside of having a baby in common. It really helps to make Vegas feel more like home.
