Featured Mom Pick | Nuna Leaf Baby To Child Chair

June 10, 2013 By Emily 59 Comments

"Mom Pick" "Baby Gear" "Must Have Baby Products" "Nuna Leaf" "Nuna Leaf Review"

When it comes to baby gear there is a ton of stuff on the market, but nothing quite like the Nuna Leaf.  Minutes after unpacking the Nuna Leaf I received to review, it was clear this is really a unique product that every new mom will want!

Nuna is new to the US, a European company designed the chair to mimic what it would feel like to sway on a leaf in the breeze.  What is truly unique about this product is the motion requires NO plugs or batteries!  Just a simple little push has this motor free chair sways your baby into childhood!

Check out my Video Review:

So what do I love about the Nuna Leaf:

Check out these seriously cool features!

"Mom Pick" "Baby Gear" "Must Have Baby Products" "Nuna Leaf" "Nuna Leaf Review"

  • weighs only 10.5 lbs.
  • holds 130 lbs.
  • sways 2 minutes without batteries
  • easy assembly
  • blends into your home
  • switch lock feature to stop movement
  • easy Velcro closure
  • mesh backing
  • organic insert
  • machine washable
  • grows with your child

The only thing I am not crazy about would be the Velcro. While it is super easy to use and allows you to get a snug fit on baby with minimal effort, don’t try to open it while baby is sleeping… it’s a bit loud.  I got around this by slipping baby out the top.  Clearly as you can see below my son had no issue sleeping in his Nuna Leaf.

"Mom Pick" "Baby Gear" "Must Have Baby Products" "Nuna Leaf" "Nuna Leaf Review"

I love that both of my children love and use the Leaf.  My older son was thrilled to have something that he didn’t have to stay off of.  It’s super easy to move around from room to room. It’s a little on the pricy side at $219 but it has a weight limit of 130 lbs.  I plan on putting it in the boys room as a reading chair when they are older!  Finally one piece of baby equipment that will last a lot longer than the super quick baby years.  I wish I would have known about this earlier, it easily would replace my swing and bouncy chair with one sleek piece of baby gear that doesn’t look like baby gear!

The Nuna Leaf is available in the US in 3 different colors.  Check out the Nuna store locater to find a retailer near you.

It holds 130 lbs? That’s crazy! I always worry that my older girls are going to break the baby swings, but they could sit in this too.

I got to see this in person at the ABC Expo and LOVE IT. It really does sway without batteries, Rebecca sat in it forever, haha. I love that I could sit on it as it holds up to 130 lb hahaha. At ABC they had a GIANT one that I took advantage of and sat in it to nurse Rebecca, it was amazing and Nuna needs to make those so I can have one in my home lol.

I saw that giant one – but someone else was sitting in it! If they made them I would SO buy one for the nursery and toss out the twin bed! LOL

This looks SO neat! I love that it doesn’t require batteries or electricity and that it’s machine washable. Since it’s mesh, it would be fantastic for the hot summer months. I could see baby swaying in it in the shade of our tree. My 4 year old & 2 year old would probably fight the baby for it though! LOL

I can’t get over the fact that it doesn’t use batteries and doesn’t need to be plugged in – that is so fantastic! Cost-effective and it looks super comfy for baby too. Wish this had been around when I had little ones – looks like a comforting place for a nap.

Oh my goodness, that is amazing!! I can’t believe it holds 130 pounds!! So many regular swings you can’t use after about 6 months or so because baby weighs so much the swing doesn’t work anymore. So, that is amazing!!

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Nuna. I had no idea it was motorless though. I would’ve loved this for both my boys. Neither liked the swing, but this motion is more like a sway which they both love.

There are so many great baby products out there now that I am done having kids. 🙂 Most of my baby products I bought when I had my oldest 10 years ago and things have definitely evolved in a good way. I love that this holds up to 130 lbs. No more worrying about the bigger kids breaking the baby products.
