If you can believe it, 4 days was not enough time to even make a dent at the ABC Kids Expo. If you are unfamiliar the ABC Kids Expo is held once a year and is the largest juvenile convention featuring new and exciting products getting ready to hit the market. It is a place for buyers to see what new products they can bring into their stores and media to get a peek at what is hot in the industry.
If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen my pictures from the show! Here are a few products I am super excited about, and are my pick for best of from the show!
Strollers:
I looked at a lot of new strollers this past week, and I really liked a lot of what I saw. However, what I was most excited about was the Mamas and Papas Armadillo. It is the Big Little Stroller meaning that it has all the features you want in a big stroller, but is truly a little, compact, lightweight innovation!
Weighing in at 17 lbs the Armadillo features a one-handed compact fold, a 50 lb weight limit, a HUGE canopy, a large storage basket, a nice big seat for baby/toddler, a great foot rest, and only costs $279! The released the Armadillo in 5 gorgeous colors, but Baby D and I sure loved the Coral!
Check out this folding action!
Car Seats:
Again, there were a lot of great things happening in the car seat world, but I have to share a German company with a one of a kind infant car seat coming to the US market in early 2014!
The Kiddy Evolution Pro Infant car seat is the only car seat that will actually reline flat when placed in the stroller! Every parent knows that the infant car seats often put baby to sleep. Once removed from the car or base installation, this car seat allows baby to continue sleeping in the seat without the worry of restricted airflow which is the main reason why parents are told not to let baby sleep in a car seat for any length of time. With a simple flip of the handle bar the seat actually lengthens and reclines! It can be done on a solid surface or in when it is installed in the stroller! It however can not be reclined when it is installed in the car, and actually blocks the locking mechanism to the base or the belt path for installation. The seat can be used from 4-35 lbs!
If that wasn’t enough the seat’s base actually takes the frustration out of installation! It uses an easy ratcheting motion to securely install, and a simple pull back of the base to uninstall! No sweat, not fuss, no more fighting to make sure your seat is installed correctly and tightly! Plus the seat will be available in 8 fun colors!
Check out my video to see these awesome features!
Breastfeeding:
I saw a lot of familiar faces in the breastfeeding world at ABC Kids Expo, but one was new to me, and was really an innovative spin on a classic go-to. Nuzzle Me was created by a mom for moms. Not only can the nuzzle pods be heated or cooled, when used in the hugs system you have a product that completely surrounds the breast tissue. Plus with a few button adjustments you can also use the Hugs as a heating pad for your pelvic/abdomen region. While it was designed for breastfeeding moms the Nuzzle Me can also be used for relief of endometriosis pain, cramps, or mastectomy patients. These come in two sizes to make sure that it will fit as many moms as possible! Find out more at NuzzleMom.com
Toys:
I am a huge fan of toys that don’t require batteries and rely on children’s imagination for noise. Don’t get me wrong, we have plenty of battery operated toys, but there is just something about a toy that get’s kids playing naturally.
Next month Skip Hop will be releasing a line of wooden and plush toys that Baby D loved playing with! These animal themed playthings will keep your baby learning and exploring! With fun motions and unique noises you are sure to find yourself playing right along side baby!
Equally as cute and hitting a wider age range, Uncle Goose’s block sets were so much fun! From state maps, chemistry blocks, and coming in early November creative robot stackers, these blocks are so much more than building blocks!
Your child will learn while stacking and you will like the great price points too! They even have blocks to help special needs children! Check out Uncle Goose for more information!
Babywearing:
The theme of the show when it came to babywearing seemed to be prints and color! I’m biased because I love my lillebaby COMPLETE carrier, but I really love the new prints they are launching!
Maternity:
Lots of great products for the mama to be, but I couldn’t get over Laboraide! In fact I wish I had heard of it 10 months ago! Laboraide is a natural pain relief tool for labor that helps mom to relax her jaw. Studies have proven that if we can relax our lower jaw when we are in pain, we are able to relax the rest of our body and tolerate pain better. These teeth guards com in 2 or 4 packs and are not just for the moms wanting a natural labor. This product is something any mom, even after an epidural can find benefit in.
Find our more from Laboraide!
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some amazing baby gear coming to the market very soon, but I wanted to make sure I was able to share some of my favorite finds from the ABC Kids Expo first!
Let me know what you are most excited to see!
