Tribeca Film Festival Avengers Honor Real Life Superheroes | #TheAvengersEvent

April 30, 2012 By Emily 19 Comments

  Having had my husband deploy first as a part of the military, and currently as a civilian contractor I know first hand the sacrifice these men, women, and families make everyday. I think it is so easy to get caught up in our day to day and forget that there are still men and women who are the first responders here at home and many still overseas fighting for our everyday … [Read more...]

That lasted about 4 months, until my son had his first really bad illness and trouble falling to sleep as a result.  During this time I started bouncing him to sleep. Operation No More Bouncer took a lot longer … [Read more...]

Keeping Daddy’s Spot Warm {Dear Squishy #WordlessWednesday}

October 4, 2011 By Emily 6 Comments

    Dear Squishy, I know you understand so much more about this deployment then you have in the past.  While I know I may be digging myself a deep hole, I can't help but allow you to keep daddy's spot warm while he is gone. You insist on naps, and nights in our bed.  Truthfully, I don't mind the co-sleeping snuggles, but worry about you leaving our bed later on... Either … [Read more...]
