{via Kroger’s give every night new flavor}
I am always looking for Healthy, Affordable, and Fast meals to make for my family. Thanks to Kroger’s Give Every Night New Flavor, now when I draw a blank, I can head on over to the site and pick something out for my family.
While today isn’t a weeknight, once I saw the Southwestern Potato Egg Frittata I knew I had to make that for our Easter Sunday dinner! I mean what is Easter Sunday without a great egg dish.
Doesn’t this just look super simple to navigate! Well it is!
Kroger’s site makes it so easy – all you have to do is pick what you are in the mood for, how long you have to cook, and how many you are cooking for. It then allows to you to print the recipe, add coupons to your Rewards card, and add the ingredients to your shopping list.
Shopping was simple. (Like my cart!)
Laying out all the ingredients before starting to cook – how simple this looks!!
Cooking was fun. And very easy. The timing was also very accurate as far as the site had told me.
Check out my Southwestern Potato Egg Frittata!
And it was a blast to eat. Because I had Pam spay at home – I only spent $6.77 on this meal. That is just over $3.00 per serving. And it is fast and healthy. Just what I was looking for!
Nutritional Value has this at 198 calories per serving. Serving size is ½ a frittata. That was a huge portion size. I divided it into 3rds and we were still stuffed! (All of this is found on the give every night new flavor webpage.
The recipe called for Rotel diced tomatoes and green chillies. I was worried it would be to hot, so I picked up Rotel with cilantro and lime instead.
I didn’t realize the peppers in the O’Brians were going to be hot peppers. I figured they were like Green Peppers. So there was definetly a kick to this. Which meant my 22 month old wanted nothing to do with it. But my Sister-in-Law and I enjoyed it.
The recipe also calls for vegetable oil. Thinking I would save a few calories I just relied on the PAM. And while it didn’t stick to the bottom, I think the oil would have helped the dish cook more evenly.
Next time we want to buy plain potatoes and add our own veggies. Which while raise the cost a little bit per person – it will also mean everyone in the house can enjoy it!
I give this recipe 3 out of 5 stars, but will definitely be checking out Give Every Night New Flavor to try some more of the yummy recipes!!

That frittata looks delicious, and that is such a great way to plan a menu! I wish I lived back on the mainland to shop at Kroger stores again. This would come in handy.
