At the end of 2011 I was invited via email by Jennifer James of Mom Bloggers Club to be among the first moms to join a new initiative for moms to use social media to bring awareness to charities, non-profits, and important causes. As a mother and a blogger I have a voice, and I know first hand via my Spread The Warmth campaign that my voice CAN and WILL make a difference.
I was thrilled to join and be a part of Moms for Social Good. I believe strongly that we all have a voice and it is our responsibility to use it for social good. Moms for Social Good is a really amazing way to bring the power of social media together to make an impact.
About Moms for Social Good
Mom Bloggers for Social Good is a global coalition of mom bloggers who currently span fifteen countries –United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Spain, Nigeria, Singapore, Netherlands, Pakistan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Jamaica, and the Philippines – who care about spreading the good news about the amazing work non-profit organizations and NGOs are doing around the world. When our partners need to reach the masses about new initiatives, advocacy campaigns, or fundraising efforts we work voluntarily and collectively to spread the word through social media and blogging.
If you would like to become a member, visit the Join Us page where you can sign up and become a pivotal part of Mom Bloggers for Social Good.
Another cause that I am pretty passionate about is helping to end world hunger. You may World Hunger Relief was one of the first social good endeavors that I felt like I needed to blog about and bring awareness to. Lolo from Crazy About My Baybah and I put together a mini-charity raffle on our blog with the help of Itzy Ritzy and Yum! to bring awareness to their World Hunger Relief Organization. It was my first time using social media for social good. I saw first hand how much further my voice could reach by using social media.
Today thanks to Moms for Social Good, I learned that The World Food Programme was asking “Why Do You Care About World Hunger”. I knew I had to take a moment to respond and share why I care about fighting world hunger. Make sure you read further to find out how you can share why you care about fighting world hunger!
About World Food Programme
Our friends at the World Food Programme are not only working to prevent hunger on the high level, but they are also on the ground feeding those in need of food, and are educating the masses about how important it is to ensure everyone has enough food to eat, no matter where a person lives on earth.
The World Food Programme is looking for a passionate supporter to highlight in their March newsletter that is sent to nearly a million people worldwide.
Take a few minutes and upload a video online telling the World Food Programme why you’re fighting hunger, and then share your link. If you would like to write a post instead, you can post a message here.
Be sure to upload your video or post your message by February 20 to be considered.
Disclosure: I am not being compensated in ANY way for this post. I am just sharing about a few things I am passionate about.

Such a GREAT cause! My family has been sponsoring a child in Africa through World Vision for about a year now, and it’s so satisfying of a feeling to help others.
P.s. Hey there fellow FitFluential Ambassador 😉
