This Week’s Topic: Fun in the Kitchen with your Toddler!
I have a confession to make.
I haven’t really done anything in the kitchen with my toddler. While I did have him help decorate cookies at Christmas time; I am not a big baker (or really a baker at all), and I haven’t had the guts to bring him in while I am cooking a meal yet.
We have our kitchen completely gated off. And I don’t allow him to play in there either. I do eventually want him to get involved with cooking, but haven’t decided when to do so.
I’m looking forward to seeing what others say about this subject!
Next Week’s Topic: FREE – Share whatever you want as long as it features your toddler!

Love this topic! I’ll try to link up if I can, but in the meantime:
I bring my toddler (2.5) into the kitchen whenever possible, especially on Sunday – our cooking day! He grocery shops with me, and he loves trying new things at the farmer’s market. This will be his first year gardening with us, and I can’t wait! He loves to help put the toppings on homemade pizzas and push the cookie dough out of the scoop, and he watches as I cut vegetables and show him how to prepare things. I don’t let him do much besides crack eggs and push a few buttons on the appliances (if he’s very careful and well-behaved!) but I hope what I’m doing now leads to a good comfort level in the kitchen as he gets older. I want him to learn an appreciation for real foods and good ingredients, and have great memories of cooking with his mom. 🙂 The proud look on his face when he shows one of use (mommy or daddy) what he made with the other is just priceless!
