Baby Banana and Shark Brush #Giveaway {September Sprinkles} US (2 Winners)

October 6, 2012 By Emily 14 Comments

When my son was 5 months old he popped his first tooth (2 actually).  However, for the month prior to that he began to bite me during breastfeeding.  (OUCH!!)

I was directed by my lactation consultant to remove baby from my breast, tell him no biting, and give him another chance.  If he continued the behavior I was to remove him completely, and give him something to chew on. This worked well, but eventually as bigger and more painful teeth started to push through, he lost interest in the teether I had for him

Lucky for me, a few months later when Squishy was closer to one, I was able to stumble across a great product called Baby Banana Brushes!  I was actually killing two birds with one stone with this simple product.  I was encouraging him to brush his teeth, and I was giving him something soft and sturdy to ease the pain of teething!

"Baby's first tooth brush" "Baby Banana Brush" "Baby Teether"

The original Baby Banana Brush is intended for toddlers at least a year old. It is flexible, bendable and made to withstand the chewing. It is adorable and shaped like a banana! Their is also an infant banana brush that uses the peel to create handles for babies under one year old to grasp and keep from putting too far back in their mouth. Both have small bristles to massage teeth and gums.

"Baby's first tooth brush" "Baby Shark Brush" "Baby Teether"

Their newest product is the Sharky Brush Teether. It’s shaped like a shark with bristles and nubs to clean baby’s mouth as well as stimulate their teething gums. It’s intended for babies under a year old. The find allow the brush to stand next to the sink. It’s really quite cute! They are all dishwasher safe for cleaning and sanitizing which is pretty neat!

I’m excited to try the Sharky Brush Teether with my second baby.  I know it will ease a lot of his pain, and hopefully prevent mine as well!

TWO lucky US readers will each win a Banana Brush & Sharky Brush! Open until 10/20/12.

Start early and be the example, if they see you do it, they’ll do it too. Also have them brush to a song, it’ll be fun for them and you’ll be sure that they brushed long enough 🙂

I brush my teeth with my toddler, and my infant watches. I think it’s good for them to see Mommy have god oral hygiene. Hopefully the habit will encourage them to do the same!

My little girl isn’t at a point of brushing her teeth yet, but I hold her on my hip when I brush my teeth and she loves to hold onto the toothbrush and pull it back and forth with me. I imagine when she is a little older she will be excited to get her own brush and be like mommy!

I tell my 3 year old how important it is to brush so we don’t get cavities, he loves to brush! My 1 year old doesn’t understand yet.

I tell my kids, only brush and take care of the teeth you want to keep. They of course want to keep them all, so they make sure to brush each one of them.
