Last weekend my boys and I got to attend the grand opening of the new Disney Store in the Fashion Show Mall here in Las Vegas. My son insisted that we dress up for the event, and as an avid Disney lover myself I was happy to oblige him!
The new Las Vegas Disney Store is unlike many of the other Disney Stores around the country this is one of the newly designed stores intended to be interactive for everyone who walks through their doors.
When we arrived my son immediately exclaimed “Mommy! Look at all the people!” The turn out for the grand opening was quite impressive as each new guest was given their very own set of Disney Store Mickey Ears to take home and commemorate the day!
To start of the magical day the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas were invited to be special guest receiving a first look at the store, a goody bag, front row seating to the grand opening ceremony, and a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie! One young child was even picked to take part in the “Unlock Imagination” ceremony. This unique ceremony is performed each day at the new Disney Store. Each day a new child is selected to help open the store with an over sized Disney lock and key. After the morning ritual ceremony that child will be sent home with a key to remind them of their very special day!
The new store features immersive and interactive experiences for all guests, including a Disney Princess Castle complete with Magic Mirror, Magical Trees, Disney∙Pixar CARS neighborhood and the Disney Store Theater. One of my favorite features was the unique to Las Vegas skyline highlighting local Las Vegas scenery! Make sure you keep your eyes open! We were informed in a bloggers store tour that there are hidden ears all over the store including the projected images on the Magical Trees!
