You may think naming a bottle a boob is a weird thing to do, but Joovy (known for their “oo” product line might have hit the nail right on the head with this name. Breastfeeding my babies was something that I felt really strongly about. I worked very hard to establish a good breastfeeding routine after rough beginnings with both of my babies, so the last thing I want is a product that is going to take away from the latch that we worked so hard to get right. That is why I was excited to review the boob bottle.
The Joovy boob was actually designed with breastfeeding moms in mind. They created a nipple that promotes a wide latch for baby and makes the transition from bottle to breast and breast to bottle easy for both mom and baby.
How Did They Do That?
The Nipples:
The nipple was designed from a soft silicone to best simulate natural breastfeeding. The wide base helps promote a wider latch which will help baby transition comfortably from breast to bottle and back. Not only are the nipples made of silicone but they are actually baked which helps prevent nipple collapse. You can buy nipples in 4 flows:
- Stage 1: Slow Flow 0+ months
- Stage 2: Medium Flow 3+ months
- Stage 3: Fast Flow 6+ months
- X-cut: Extra Fast Flow for Thicker Flows 6+ months
The CleanFlow Vent Technology:
Made of soft silicone and hard PPSU plastic the CleanFlow vent has 4 vented spaced openings which allows baby to get a good flow no matter how they hold the bottle. The silicone stays sanitized because the user only has to touch the plastic ring to install the vent technology. The ring fits simply on top of the mouth of the boob bottle and prevents the user from over or under tightening. Proper venting of the bottle prevents colic and inner ear infections.
Check out my video for my full review:
The Joovy Boob comes in 5 and 9 ounce bottles and prices start at $9.99 for bottles and $3.99 for accessories. If you are a breastfeeding mom, you do not want to miss purchasing the pump adapter that allows you to pump from any major breast pump brand directly into your bottles. This is what I do every single morning.
So far this is the only bottle I’ve even had a small amount of success bottle feeding my son with. I am hoping after my husband returns from deployment he will start giving baby a bottle at night and we will see better results. Regardless, I love that Joovy saw a need for a bottle tailored to breastfeeding moms and designed a simple, easy to use bottle made from quality products! No matter if you are breastfeeding, formula feeding, or doing both this bottle is great! (Not to mention, very easy to clean!)

This looks like a great bottle for any breastfeeding moms! I’ll keep this in mind next time I need to buy for a baby shower!
Joovy makes great stuff, so I imagine this is another winner
I am glad to hear that you are having some success with these!
I looked all around for something like this when my boys were babies, but there was nothing. Wish there had been, I am glad you are able to use them now!
Joovy has always been a favorite brand for me; I wish I’d had this when I was nursing. 🙁
Joovy looks like they make great products!
Omg – love the title of this post. I had not seen these before.
I so should have had some of these boobs to help mine out back when my daughter was a baby.
I’ll be stocking up on these in a few months! I love that they have bottles intended for nursing babies!
These are a must for my BFF! She’ll need them on hand so daddy can feed their newest addition while I steal her for a girls night. You just can’t go wrong with Joovy!
I like the 4 different flows for the nipples and that they are molded instead of cut
I nursed my children but I also supplemented occasionally with formula – it made it much easier for me to be able to get away (like grocery shopping) without them. Glad you have found a good bottle.
Great review! I like the name Boob Bottle, it just seems to make sense! lol I also have enjoyed watching the evolution of the baby bottle over the years!
thanks
I am so glad you are finding success with this bottle. I would love to try it out as well! I love Joovy!! Their products are always really well made 🙂
I wish I had these when mine were babies, they would not take any of the bottles I had on hand for when I pumped (not that I was able to pump super successfully)
Love that the nipple provides a wide latch. My son never took a bottle either, I am now expecting baby #2 and I am praying she will take one at least for the few times I need to leave her alone with DH. These seem great.
Sounds like a great bottle and I love the price!
