One Line A Day: 5 Year Memory Books For My Children

August 16, 2013 By Emily 21 Comments

"Memory Books" "Journals" "Mom's Journal" "One Line A Day Five Year Memory Books"

I stumbled across these books they other day called One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book and immediately ordered them off of amazon. I used to think of my blog as a memory keeper for my children, but 4 years and over 1600 posts later, printing my blog would prove more of a nightmare than anything else.

I would love to say I have the time to write them weekly letters like I used to do with Dear Squishy, but I just don’t.  That is why I love these books.  Every night for 5 years (and beyond I hope) I will get to take just a few minutes to write 1 single line about their day.

Maybe it will be something funny that they said, or a first moment I want to remember.  I might even apologize for a bad day, or remind them just how special they are.  All I need is 1 line every night.  I think I can handle that, and I know they will love it.  If they don’t maybe their spouse will enjoy reading them one day.

If nothing else I have them to look back on the moments that are gone with the single blink of my eye.

They really do grow so quickly!

You can find them on Amazon for $12.66 each. One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book.  (That is my affiliate link.)

If you do get one – let me know! I’d love to hear how you are using it!

That is such a cute idea! I am thinking about getting one but I am so bad at following through on stuff like that so I haven’t decided.

What a wonderful idea and nice keepsake. My daughter has a hard time keeping up with the baby books for my grandsons but you just have to set aside time to make sure and do it because it’s so worth it!

I got one for Deuce and Wyatt. It is such a fun idea, although I may totally space writing in them here and there. I got to apply my 5 dollars off 25 coupon on it so I figured it was a sign to buy them!

What a sweet idea! I love the idea of writing every single day. I would even love to do this for my teens, if I started now. Thanks for sharing!

I like that idea. I have a hard enough time recalling what happened last week with my kids, so I am going to have a hard time telling them about some of their (mis)adventures later on in life. Wish I had some of those books years ago.

I have a similar book for each child regarding milestones sadly as I had each child I got worse and worse about keeping up. I think my oldest son is the only one with the book fully filled out!

Such a great idea! I’m terrible at keeping up with those things, let alone for 3 kids. :\ One line a night doesn’t sound too bad though. I should really give it a shot.

I am getting this! It will be a few days, because I have some other things to order and waiting on some info before I can place an order, but I WILL get this. I love this idea! Thank you for sharing this, Emily!

Oh I wish I would have known about or seen something like this when my daughter was little. I’m keeping these in mind for baby gifts now!

One line is totally doable and it will become so much of a treasure for both you and them. (and their future kids).
