Introducing Les Mills Immersive Fitness

June 19, 2014 By Emily 2 Comments

Ever since I was a six year old girl trying to convince my way on to the competitive diving team I knew when it came to fitness I love a challenge. Recently I joined a gym so I could get back to spinning, and I was super excited that they have several Les Mills studio workouts including BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT. Since I only just joined the gym I was only able to see one class in action. I love the unique concept of these classes and the intense music that really gets everyone focused and into the class. I can’t wait to take on the challenge of these classes.

Les Mills is actually about to take the excitement of a group class up to a whole new level with the brand new Les Mills Immersive Fitness workouts. These workouts will revolutionize the studio workout. Basically Reebok and Les Mills are moving the studio class into the digital age by surrounding the participants with video content on surrounding screens. Instructors will coordinate the workout moves perfectly with music and graphics, creating a truly immersive fitness experience.

What Is Immersive Fitness?

Imagine doing squats in a LES MILLS GRIT™ class… now imagine ducking to avoid objects flying overhead in a virtual obstacle course. Imagine doing jabs in a BODYCOMBAT™ class … now imagine having to punch objects as they hurtle toward you from the distance. Imagine doing a hill climb in RPM™ – now imagine scaling a giant mountain at night in the Alps.

IMMERSIVE FITNESS™ brings another sense of purpose to studio fitness. A sense of focus as you react to visual cues. Instead of counting reps, you react directly to visual cues.

Check out this cool video to get a sense of what it means to be immersed in your workout:

If you are anything like me you are probably wondering when you can take one of these classes. The Project will be touring in European cities including London, Stockholm, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Milan. Until it gets to the US in 2015 you can sign up to receive updates, follow along via the Instagram Project updates and by following the hashtag #immersivefitness.
As if that wasn’t cool enough, Reebok and Les Mills have collaborated to create a line of fitness apparel and footwear that is designed to be worn while taking one of these intense studio workouts. I love fitness gear, so this makes me pretty excited! It will be available for purchase worldwide.

The next level of fitness is here. IMMERSIVE FITNESS™ surrounds participants with cinema quality video content projected onto screens of a purpose-built studio. Exercise moves synchronize perfectly with music and graphics, creating a truly immersive fitness experience. Learn more!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Les Mills. The opinions and text are all mine.
