As a little girl living in Chicago my parents used to take me to a Broadway show as often as we were able to. They would purchase the album so my sister and I could learn the music and the stories and then one night we’d get all dressed up to go downtown and finally see the musical in person. I saw Cats, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Aida, and more.
Moving to Las Vegas nearly 10 years ago there was always a show on the strip, but when The Smith Center was built and they brought the Broadway series to Las Vegas I couldn’t have been more excited. As my boys grow up I hope to introduce a love of the Theater to them, but it’s also great for me to be able to to attend a few of these Broadway series performances myself!
Starting TODAY September 20 and running through October 2nd you can see Beautiful – The Carole King Musical at The Smith Center with tickets starting at only $29!
About Beautiful the Carole King Musical
Beautiful – The Carole King Musical tells the Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.
Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil, including “I Feel The Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “You’ve Got A Friend” and the title song, BEAUTIFUL has a book by Tony® Award-nominee and Academy® Award-nominated writer Douglas McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni, choreography by Josh Prince and took home two 2014 Tony® Awards and the 2015 Grammy® for Best Musical Theater Album. BEAUTIFUL is currently playing to sold out crowds at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Broadway. – TheSmithCenter.com

I Would looooove a chance to see Beautiful! My aspiring actress neice and I would be on the edge of our seats. Theatre is such a necessary experience. Also, I think all the upcoming Smith Center line up looks great but I would truly love to see HAMILTON or Waitress… I’m obsessed with Jesse Mueller, who incidently was the original actress who played Carol King in Beautiful! Bam! Full circle.
