I LOVE my Boba Wrap #Babywearing

February 18, 2013 By Emily 54 Comments

Dear Boba Wrap.

They say you never forget your first love, and I am hear to tell you that it so true.  Before you were re-named Boba Wrap you were called a Sleepy Wrap, and at a super affordable $38 you were the very first carrier I ever purchased.  You were the beginning and one of the reasons I feel in love with babywearing.  I remember when my first son was less than 2 weeks old I wrapped him up in your soft stretchy fabric and carried him through the mall in a search for nursing bras.  My son cooed and “sang” the whole time I wore his sweet little body against mine.

This time I pulled my old wrap out almost as soon as my son was born, and wore his heart near my heart in the place that he belonged.  I carried my babies for nine months underneath my heart, it only seems natural to put him as close to me as I can.  When my son was about 6 weeks old a gorgeous new wrap arrived at our doorstep.  I don’t think I have ever opened a package and used a product as quickly as I did this new Stardust Boba Wrap.

My dear Boba Wrap you are a key baby item in my household. I use you several times a week, and think it only proper to tell you all the ways I love you. So…

Let me count the ways…

"Boba Wrap" "Stardust Boba Wrap" "Babywearing" "Wear Your Baby" "Baby Wrap"

I love your beautiful fabric.  With a pattern like the Stardust I can easily throw it on over a shirt before I leave the house and people think I have a gorgeous top on.

I love your stretchy fabric that I can easily put my sweet little man in and take him out with ease.  The fabric is easily manipulated to find the sweet spot for us both.

I love that there is little to no sag as compared to other wrap carriers.  Not all stretchy wraps are created equal, one wear and you make that perfectly clear.

I love that I can feed my child discreetly while we are out and about.  As simple stretch of the shoulder straps, and a bounce to lower my baby down and into position and I am good to go.  Learning to nurse in a carrier provides me freedom to be out in public and not worry about when my baby will need to eat next.

I love that hands free I can clean my home, play with my older child, make dinner, go grocery shopping with two children, meet deadlines, write for sanity, and even workout.

I love that I don’t have to miss out on sweet baby snuggles.  With your first baby you can sit and hold them and forget a lot of the other daily chores you have.  When you have a second child, the moments of sitting and doing nothing but holding your little baby are few and far between.  When I wrap my baby up I get the best of both worlds.  I can care for the everyday chores while snuggling and providing the comfort my child needs.

And above all else…

I love that my son is instantly calmed as soon as he is placed in the wrap.  This allows me to provide the love and attention my newborn needs without taking a moment away from my three year old.  Being three is tough.  Being a newborn is, well, new.  Your wrap allows me to divide my love and attention equally.

Last week my son had a preschool party.  Right before we were to go watch them drop off their Valentines my baby started to fuss.  I ran back to my car, grabbed my Boba Wrap and in a minute my baby had calmed down.  He slept snuggly in my Boba while I got to give my older son all the attention that his first Valentine’s Day party deserved.

You allow me the ability to not have to choose between my son’s needs.  That alone is worth more to me as a mother that you know.

For all of the above and more I would like to say thank you Boba Family.

As my son continues to grow I know you and I will eventually have to part, but not too soon as we have many more months together until my baby reaches 35lbs thanks to your no sag technology.   Babywearing has allowed me to form a special bond with my children that until I had my Boba Wrap I didn’t know was possible.  You opened doors to me falling in love with more carriers and forms of babywearing all because you were my first.

When my friends ask, and they have asked, what carrier they should purchase I have always answered a Boba Wrap.  It’s an affordable go-to carrier that I couldn’t imagine not having in my stash.

I have used you with my first two babies and you can believe if we are blessed with more children you will see much more use.

Sincerely,

One very happy and smitten babywearing mama!

I miss wearing my baby 🙁 Now he’s a wiggly worm toddler who doesn’t even want me to hold him. Love the pattern on yours!

I have a Sleepy Wrap, and it was my life saver with baby girl. I never wore a wrap of any kind with my oldest, but this time around I wore her daily. I am only sad she is too big for it now! Cute post too!

Awww… I love this wrap! I wish I would have known about these great ones when mine were little enough. My youngest is three and I wish he’d let me hold him that close for a long period of time. This post makes me want to have another but I think three is it for me 🙂

having a good wrap can be a fabulous investment. I had one with my 3 son and I tell you it was one of the best things I ever had. In fact, I still have it and it can be worn as a sling so he can sit on my hip and I don’t necessarily hold his weight. its fabulous

I have a K’tan and like it now that Gus is older for the forward-facing “explorer” position, but it looks like the boba would feel more secure for wearing newborns.

This was such a cute post! I love the new Boba wrap prints. I’ve never tried the Boba wrap, but I love that it has a little spandex in it to prevent the sag that happens with cotton carriers.

I don’t know why I could never get into this kind of thing. I guess I felt so hindered. My poor babies lost out on all that good swaddling because of me. lol

I never baby wore when my daughter was an infant. I think I was always afraid I would drop her or something. Good thing she wasn’t fussy and didn’t mind being in bouncy seats, the swing, her play pen or anywhere else when I needed to get stuff done!

I didn’t know about baby wearing when I had my daughter in the 90’s…I wish that I did, because I carried that baby on my hip for almost two years straight. LOL This looks really easy to use, unlike some of the other reviews I’ve seen online!

That was a great review. I wish they had had something like this when my kids were babies. My daughter has two sons ages 3 and two weeks. The Boba Wrap has so many positive features and would free her to do what needs to be done while snuggling the baby.
