Buggy Shady ~ Review and Giveaway!

Situation #1

You are out enjoying a nice day out on the town. Maybe you have family in and you are visiting the museum, maybe you are spending the day hiking, or maybe you just have errands that needed to get run and you had no other time to get them done. Only one problem, your little one needs a nap, but there is simply too much going on for them to rest their eyes.

Situation #2

You bought this fantastic stroller, and even though the canopy is large, it still doesn’t cover everything leaving your little one vulnerable to the sun’s harmful rays. Or worse, you are out enjoying a beautiful day when the wind picks up and blows dust and debris into your little one’s eyes.

Situation #3

You have your new little one in the stroller in their car seat. Surely, that should be enough to protect from “well meaning wandering hands”. And yet, there is always one person who just can’t resist trying to reach in and touch the sweet newness that is your little one.

I know that I personally have had all three of these situations happen to me on multiple occasions. I have tried putting a blanket over, but it never seems to stay put, and can make it too warm in the stroller/car seat.

And I know for sure there have been times where we have had to cut the day trip short in order to take a fussy child home, or at the very least stop what we are doing, hid in a corner and hope to get baby to sleep before meltdown. And I am betting I am not the only person who has dealt with these problems.

So what is a Mommy to do? Get the Buggy Shady! The Buggy Shady is composed of two layers. One mesh layer offers 75% UV (A&B) protection from the harsh sun, and the second layer is made from double sided cotton, and provides your child with added darkness allowing your little one to take a better nap.

The Review

I recently received a Buggy Shady, and can’t believe that I functioned this long without it. The mesh is perfect as it adds a layer of protection from the sun and wind, and “well meaning hands”, but still allows you little one to see through. When it is time for nap just simply drop down the double sided cotton cover.

The first time I tried this, was day 2 of the ABC Kids Expo. I knew we were going to spend another full day out and about. The day before, there was so much going on, my Squish just couldn’t bear to allow himself a nap. He fought it tooth and nail. When he did finally fall asleep, he didn’t stay that way for long, as the fluorescent lights were just too much.

However, when we had the Buggy Shady the next day, he was able to take his usual 2.5 hour nap, and was a much happier little Squish because of it. That one day was enough for me to know this was a must have product for any Mommy on the go. You can’t live your life around your little one’s nap schedule, and you shouldn’t have to worry about sun exposure when you are out enjoying the day. The Buggy Shady gives you the peace of mind that your child will be better protected and comfortable when you are out and about.

(The Buggy Shady works with most major strollers that have a snack tray or bumper bar. I actually removed mine here, and pulled the foot-rest up all the way, and was still able to get it to work!)
