I know what you are thinking…
You are thinking I am not that FIT… (It’s okay, I know I’m Not…YET)
So Why am I FitFluential Material??
Growing up I was active from pretty much the time I was born. I was on the swim team by the age of 5, and joined the diving team at the age of 6. I continued to dive for many years, through high school and into college for a division 1 school. In addition throughout the years I played Field Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse, and Soccer. I learned early on that eating healthy and getting the most sleep possible were essential to thriving in any spot.
After college I dabbled in yoga, running, and spent many hours working out to maintain my healthy lifestyle. However, when I moved to Las Vegas, my life became a bit of a whirlwind. I lost track of being as healthy as I could, and focused on my job, my marriage, and not too far after my son. I was so focused on taking care of others I stopped taking care of myself. My son is now two, and finding the badge on Danielle Liss’s blog page could not have come at a better time for me. You see, I have tried diets. Many diets. I have tried quick fix pills. You name it, I have tried it.
Recently I had a fitness Epiphany. Not too long ago while chasing around my toddler (my current favorite form of exercise), I found myself laughing, and feeling better than I had in a long time. It was then I realized that I don’t need a diet to be fit, I needed to get back to the gym and do what I love. By working out, and making getting to the gym a priority, I can positively change the rest of what goes on in my daily life. Not to mention show my son why taking care of your body is so important. I guess I just lost track of the fact that I have always thrived when I am most active. My body is happiest, my mind is a peace, and I am the best person I can be. I want to teach that to my son. I want to share that with whomever I can. I want to be an ambassador for FitFluential and share how taking care of your body can have so many ripple effects on the rest of your life.
Heavy runs in my family. For years I thought it had skipped me. Turns out, I had skipped it. By working out, eating right, and enjoying life, I was able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. If I get picked as a FitFluential ambassador, I know I can share that with as many people as will read it or listen to me.
Looking at me today – you may not think I would be the perfect fit for FitFluential, as I am in the beginning of my personal fitness journey. But honestly, I think that will make me even more appealing as an ambassador. I represent thousands of other moms out there who have tried every diet, taken pills, and still struggle with their weight. I think people would really identify with me, and feel like they are dealing with someone who is on the same level as them.
Today my mind is in the right place, my heart is back in it, and by being part of this amazing opportunity, I believe I can not only succeed in my goals, but I could be a wonderful ambassador for other mom’s like me who just have put others first for so long.
If you checked out my life today – you would either find me enjoying a long walk with my son, popping in a fitness DVD when I am short on time, or heading over to the YMCA for a class. I have even re-taken (I used to do it several years ago) up Hot Yoga and LOVE it; so cleansing and relaxing. I am rediscovering the joys of leafy greens, veggie stir-frys, and fruit for desert. Not to mention my new found love of water seeing as I have given up soda. Las Vegas offers much more than lights, hotels, and gambling. We have a world of fitness right at our feet. Hiking, Skiing, Yoga, Pilates, and more gyms then I can count, Las Vegas is a great place for fitness.
Las Vegas wasn’t built overnight, and neither will my fitness journey. I have a long way to go until I am where I need to be, but the important part is I am on my way! I would love to be a part of this new journey, and will give my all to into this position. By choosing me as an ambassador for FitFluential is choosing someone who needs it, wants it, and can really give it all the attention it deserves.

I think you would be a great ambassador. I tweeted for ya.
Thank you Mami!! I appreciate it! 🙂
I think you’d be a great ambassador. I’m also a former school athlete, and I find it so hard as an adult to carve out that time to still exercise even though I feel better after I do it.
Hope you get it!!!
You would be amazing Emily!
I tweeted for ya! Let us know how it goes 🙂
Thank you so much!! Did you apply for that Blogher spot? How are things going elsewise?
No, I didn’t apply for the Blogher spot. Blogher falls at a time when I have other commitments … I will definitely apply for next year!!
Elsewhere all is well! Still don’t have a house … but I have found some part time work, my kids are just awesome, and the winter has been pretty mild so far … Fabulous 🙂
