Can you believe it has already a full 100 years since Lane Bryant brought plus size clothing to the forefront of fashion?
A century ago, a 1911 New York Herald ad offering full figured women fashionable clothes put the Lane Bryant brand on the map. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of its groundbreaking ad, Lane Bryant, the most recognizable brand in plus size fashion, is once again charting a new direction for the industry with the introduction today of Fashion Genius™, a breakthrough technology that gives modern full figured women what they crave most: easy access to a world of plus size fashions that caters to their unique body shapes and style preferences.
Fashion Genius fills a void in a market that serves 60 percent of American women,
yet only accounts for 17 percent of the total apparel market share,” says Bass. “This
technology breakthrough continues Lane Bryant’s 100-year tradition of innovation in
serving the individual needs of plus size women.”
Having been working hard to lose weight, my fashion sense has seemingly taken a back seat to my weighty issues. Finding something that looks good on my body type just seems crazy frustrating! Sonsi is looking to change that with their new “Fashion Genius”.
In 3 minutes or less, with no measurements required, Fashion Genius guides the plus size woman through a series of questions to identify her unique body shape and style preferences. Once she completes the survey, she is provided an opportunity to style, and purchase, outfits from products recommended specifically for her. Because Fashion Genius’ proprietary algorithm adapts to each of her responses throughout the survey process, each set of questions is completely relevant to her individual needs, thus ensuring that the products recommended will fit and flatter her unique body shape.
Easy. Fast. Personalized. Genius!
Check out what I was able to find out when I took the super easy, super fast, super awesome Fashion Genius survey.
I started by taking the Tops survey
They asked lots of great telling questions. – Body type is very important. If you don’t know, ask your friend or mother to tell you what they think you are.
I loved that they really tried to get a feel for who I am and what works and doesn’t work for me.
This was my favorite question!
The survey determined that I am mostly dramatic and trendy with a touch of feminine and casual. (Or at least that is what I would be if I knew what to wear!)
They suggested I try ruched fabric to hide my tummy, stay away from strips across my middle, try tops with hemlines that fall below the waist, and use accessories to draw attention up to my face.
So I have this pretty amazing event coming up with DreamWorks and Disney. I am one of a few lucky bloggers who is going to have the opportunity to meet and interview Hugh Jackman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Jason Segal, Shawn Levy, Kermit, and Miss Piggy to name a few!
Once I got over the excitement I realized I had NO idea what on earth to wear! So, I headed over to Sonsi and after taking my surveys, I created a few outfits for my event. Sonsi will also create outfits for you based on your survey information! Check out these two outfits I put together!
(The purses in the above outfits were both over $200! I guess I have expensive taste! But I think my husband already knew that!)
These outfits would both be great for my weekend in California. Sonsi’s Fashion Genius really does take so much of the guess work out of shopping for plus-sized clothing!

I’m going to check this out.
The outfits are super cute and not frumpy like a lot of plus sized clothing.
By the way, I think you look great. Keep up the good work.
Both those outfits are cute!
Thanks Cassie!
