Hey all!
It has been a while since I have done a Fitness Friday post, but I find when I do them, I have more motivation to accomplish the goals I set write down for the week.
This week we were supposed to travel to Florida to see my father for Thanksgiving. Turns out Squishy and a virus had other ideas. With a temperature of 103 we were not going to be flying.
However, since I plan on traveling a combined total of over 3 weeks this holiday season, I did some research on workouts you can take with you while away from home!
I thought I would share a couple I liked and plan to use, and then a few more that were shared with me from other FitFluentials!
1. Tabata workouts. – These are 2 rounds of 4 exercises. Each one is done for 20 seconds with a 10 second rest. Then you repeat as many times as you can muster!
Example:
Squat Jumps (20/10)
Line Jumps (20/10)
Mountain Climbers (20/10)
Jumping Jacks (20/10)
Squat Jumps (20/10)
Line Jumps (20/10)
Mountain Climbers (20/10)
Jumping Jacks (20/10)
REST 2 minutes – Repeat 2, 3, 4, 5 times.
What I love about this is you can make it exactly what you want it to be. Everyday you do them you could do 4 different exercises, OR you could do like Scott from Your Inner Skinny did, (check out his video) and do 5 sets of something different each time!
If you aren’t creative, or don’t like to make up your own workouts, check out Bex Life tabata videos on youtube. She has a great bunch of what she calls You HAVE 4 Minutes.
2. BodyRock.tv – DUUUDE, this site is kick a$$. I am new to it, and still trying to figure out where to start, but I had planned on checking out some of their workouts on vacation. What I wouldn’t do for a body like Zuzana…
From home workouts to food & diet information, I can’t even begin to tell you the wealth of information you can find here!
3. Pinterest – YES! Pinterest! This site never stops amazing me. Just when I think I have it figured out, I find another reason to use it.
I did this Jump the Jiggle Off workout on Thanksgiving. While it was a little much for my shin tendonitis, it was still an awesome 19 minute sweat fest!
How do you get your workout in while traveling?

I came over here from the ‘blog hop’ and I’m impressed with the content! I’ve always said that you don’t need a ton of fancy fitness center equipment in order to get a good workout. I participate in a boot camp program that reinforces this idea. (similar to the Tabata workout in your post). Good work! Looking forward to seeing more!

Hey Thanks Lani!
I am struggling to find one that is kind to my shin… I took boot camp earlier this year and developed tendonitis in my shin. I am a bit stubborn and haven’t really backed off of it. Tabata always kills it, but it is such an effective quick workout. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Before I was so into the internet, I used to bring my DVD player and DVD’s when I traveled! Can you believe it? Now there are lots of workouts like this that you can do, and when I say you, that’s what I mean. 😉
