This Week’s Topic: Songs You Sing Your Toddler OR Songs That Remind You of Your Toddler
I don’t have a great voice, but I found that after I had my son, I really enjoyed singing with him.
I have a few songs that I made lyrics up to that I sing over and over to him. (Which apparently I stole from Bye Bye Birdie…)
“I love my squishy; oh yes I do.  When he’s not near me; I’m blue…”
When Squish was younger, I sang the Beatles “Blackbird” to him.  I love that song, I love singing it to him.  I really enjoy Evan Rachel Wood’s version.

I also sing “You are my Sunshine“, “Itsy Bitsy Spider“, and “Cars on a Truck“(co-written by Squishy and me!) a lot.
“The Lord Bless You” is another song I sing a lot to my son.
As far as songs that make us think of Squishy:

My hubs says the Star Wars Theme “Imperial March” reminds him of Squishy.

Auntie (who lives with us) says “Godzilla” by Blue Oyster Cult reminds her of Squishy.

As for me, I am having a hard time separating lullabies and fun songs from ones that generally remind me of Squishy, but I would have to say “GodSpeed (Sweet Dreams)” from the Dixie Chicks always makes me think of the dude.

WHAT SONG REMINDS YOU OF YOUR TODDLER?
WHAT SONGS DO YOU LIKE TO SING TO YOUR TODDLER?

I LOVE Blackbird!! When L was born, my husband learned to play that on the guitar and would sing it to him. Very soft and sweet — a perfect lullaby. I am writing up a post for this – singing is big around here too!
