Palmolive Fresh Sponge Means No more Sponge Stink!

May 7, 2012 By Emily 10 Comments

"Palmolive" "Influenster" "Dish Soap"A few weeks ago I was sent a brand new kind of dish soap as part of an Influenster starter pack. Inside was a new full sized bottle of Palmolive Fresh Sponge Soap and a brand new sponge  While Palmolive is not my normal dish soap brand, I was intrigued by the fact that this particular dish soap promised to “wash away odor causing residue from sponges.”

You know that smell.  The one that never really goes away despite microwaving, bleach, or any other technique you use.  The one that actually seems to stay on my hands after the dishes are done, and after I have washed my hands.

Being pregnant and super sensitive to smells right now, I was down for a Palmolive test drive.

After checking out the Palmolive site and reading up on their newest product I set my test drive in motion.  I knew this one would take a couple of weeks to complete.

Ultra Palmolive® Fresh Sponge™

Ultra Palmolive® Fresh Sponge

Palmolive® understands it’s important to know not only what are in the products you and your family use, but also why they are in there. That’s why we are not only sharing our product ingredients, but also their purpose in the formula.

  • Washes away odor causing residue from sponges
  • Cleans dishes to a sparkling shine

The Test:

For three weeks I didn’t once wash or sanitize my sponge.  I was even extra lenient about not wringing out the sponge after doing the dishes.  I may even have left the sponge at the bottom of the sink on a couple of occasions.  (Yes, this grosses me out a bit too!)

The Results:

My sponge doesn’t smell!!  Seriously!  It looks like it has been through a battle, but it doesn’t smell and even better yet neither do my hands!!  I still love my current dish soap, but I am really digging the fresh sponge.  It will be a tough choice when I run out of soap!

Disclosure: I received given this product complimentary for testing purposes from Colgate-Palmolive via Influenster. No monetary compensation was given, and a positive review was not required.

You do not know HOW many sponges I go through due to this exact problem. Believe me, my next dish soap I buy WILL be this variety of Palmolive!
