Wow! I can’t believe we have already made it to 12 weeks, and at the same time I know this pregnancy has really only just begun!
If you missed our pregnancy announcement post you can catch up here: We are expecting our second child!
A lot has happened over the past 4 weeks!
New OB and VBAC Update:
I have now met with my new OB, and am VERY happy with him. He is kind and didn’t once laugh at any of my “silly” pregnancy/baby questions. He is optimistic that I will be able to have a VBAC depending on baby’s size.
You may remember with my first son he was born at 38 weeks 10.2 lbs. I was induced for pre-eclampsia, and after 26+ hours of HARD labor, I never progressed passed 4 cm. He did let me know he has delivered 12 lb babies naturally, but I am not sure I want to go there.
We made the decision to play this pregnancy by ear, and keep an eye on Baby Bee’s growth and my health. Our goal is a healthy baby/healthy mama with a potential for VBAC.
He is one of very few doctors who will do VBACs here, so I am fortunate to have him as my OB.
On to the FUN stuff!!
Baby Pictures:
We got to see our sweet Baby Bee 3 times now. I had my 8 week U/S to check on baby and see if our delivery date was correct. Everything was perfect, and baby measured EXACTLY to my due date!
My OB wanted to see for himself how baby was doing, so I got another look at 10 weeks! Isn’t amazing the changes in the baby in only 2 short weeks? Baby Bee was measuring 1 day ahead on this day.
We had our 12 week screening done this week. Baby Bee looked perfect. I can’t believe how perfectly formed the little foot is already! I am sure I will know that foot all too well come December! Baby was measuring FIVE days ahead at this appointment. We didn’t do a 12 week u/s with Squishy, but by his 20 week appointment he was already measuring nearly 2 weeks ahead… I am thinking we are heading into big baby territory again!
How far along? 12 weeks 1 dayTotal weight gain: +1 (And so it begins…)Maternity clothes? Not yet! Last pregnancy I was in them by now, so it is still nice to be able to wear normal clothes.Stretch marks? Just the ones left over from my 10lb 2oz baby boy!Sleep: All the freaking time! If I could take multiple naps a day, I would! (Still completely exhausted all the time!)Best moment this week: Seeing Baby Bee and all the development he/she has done!Miss Anything? Caffeine! Lately I am also missing beer. There is just something about a really hot day and an ice cold beer…Movement: Little flutters, but I suppose it could be gas too… :OFood cravings: Cheese, Mexican food, eggs, and anything grape flavored!Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken, Meat in general, mushrooms, pretty much anything just depends on the time…Fitness:UGH, this frustrates me. I am so tired all the time, and working out is only making it worse right now. I am hoping to get back into a regular routine soon!!Labor Signs: Nope! (not for a very long time I hope!)Symptoms: Exhaustion and round ligament pain. Nausea is letting up, but flares on days I don’t eat enough.Belly Button in or out? No one needs to see my belly button! LOL It’s still in.Wedding rings on or off? OnHappy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, but really really tired. I’m pretty much able to cry on the drop of a dime.Looking forward to: Looking pregnant and not just fluffy!
12 week picture:
Pretty sure my “bump” now is what is still left over from my super large belly last pregnancy. It never really went away, despite lots and lots of workouts… It is funny though that I have the exact same hair color and cut as it was 3.5 years ago! Which if you know my propensity to change hairstyles is only a small miracle!

ADORABLE! I always loved the U/S around the 10-12 week marks… they always look like “real” babies at that point (of COURSE, they are but you know what I mean!).
I do know what you mean, it is amazing that at 8 weeks they look like beans/gummie bears, then all of a sudden 2-4 weeks later a baby!
Aww yay for baby #2!! 🙂 Can’t wait to read more updates!

Thank you! That is cute! Yeah, Baby Bee – is a play on Baby “b” or number two. I called Squishy June Bug, so I figured this one needed to be an insect too! LOL!! I know I’m crazy! I love Deuce too! 😉

WOW and I thought my son was big at 9lbs 4ozs. I ended up with three c-sections. Tried for a VBAC with the second but his head was too big and would not drop so they went with c-section. The third one I had no choice. Congrats!
I think I will be okay with a second c/s, but I want to keep my options open. You have a beautiful family, and that is the best part!
