20 Week Baby Bump Pregnancy Update!

July 25, 2012 By Emily 39 Comments

Meet baby Monster Truck!  For the previous 20 weeks I have been calling this baby “Baby Bee”.  However, Squishy has decided his name should be Monster Truck, and who am I to argue with a 3 year old!

Sweet baby’s profile!

20 toes!

Baby gives me a thumbs up!!

My little acrobat! He has his chin tucked to his chest, his hands behind his back, and his feet pushed up above his head!

This ultrasound was done at 18 weeks 6 days.  My mother was in town, and we were able to find out very clearly we are having another beautiful boy!  After the ultrasound we went to a park and took some fun pictures for the big baby gender reveal to my hubs overseas.  He was over the moon.

Overall I am feeling really great.  The only thing that is very frustrating to me is the sciatic pain.  I dealt with it during my last pregnancy as well, but all I want to do is go to the gym and get a good sweat session on, but this is hindering that big time…

I don’t think my bump changed too much from 16 week bump to today.  I am loving feeling the baby roll and kick even from the outside.  Sometimes I almost forget I am pregnant until the baby moves… Crazy right!  Being pregnant the second time is very different than the first time around.  My life is less dreaming about the baby to be, and more living in the moment with my son.  That is not to say I am not super excited for this baby, but rather my life is just a lot busier than it was last pregnancy. Speaking of my last pregnancy… you’ll have to take my word for it. My belly looks pretty much the same plus the stretch marks from my last pregnancy.  While I love my stretch marks, I didn’t feel like making everyone love them! (You can thank me later!)

"20 week comparison" "Baby Bump" "20 weeks pregnant" "Pregnancy Bump"

Isn’t funny that I virtually could have taken these pictures on the same day and not 3.5 years apart?  Later in the first pregnancy I dyed my hair red… I won’t be doing that this time!

How far along? 20 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain: +8 (eek, 3 of that was last week!!)

Maternity clothes? Yep, I find them so much more comfortable.

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Sleep: Going well, especially days I get naps!!

Best moment this week: My son feeling baby kick for the first time.

Miss Anything? Chicken! Serious food aversion here, but I miss the convenience of it.

Movement: Kicks, flips, and feeling it from the outside.

Food cravings: Cheese, Pretzel bread!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Chicken.

Fitness: Gah – I am so annoyed by this. I have the energy to do it, but my sciatic has been limiting me severely… I just want to sweat and not from the Las Vegas heat!

Labor Signs: Nope! (not for a very long time I hope!)

Symptoms: Sciatic flairs big time!

Belly Button in or out? It’s still in.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, but missing my husband.

Looking forward to: 22 week appointment!

This next week I will be flying to Florida to visit my father and step-mom.  I am praying I don’t swell up like a pumpkin, and that the salt water will feel amazing on my sciatic!

You look great! I feel like now is when the belly rounds out more. I have been feeling baby moving a lot more lately, but not on the outside yet. Can’t wait for my daughter to feel that!

I love the new baby name. Our 4yr old has named his soon to he born baby sister green lantern. His current obsession is super heroes and he and his little brother each have a super hero name. He refuses to call her by the name we have chosen. I love big brothers and excited they are when new babies are coming.

Monster Truck… that is funny! This is my first time to your blog. Congratulations on the baby being a boy! I am ashamed to say, but when I was pregnant with my daughter (long time ago) I gained 8 lbs in 1 month. Pillsbury Chocolate Chip cookies were to blame! 🙂 Did you say you had only gained 8 lbs during your whole pregnancy so far?
