If you asked anyone they would tell you I am pretty much an “enjoys the wonders of modern technology” kinda girl. After all I am a blogger.
But there is one area in which I love the old fashioned way of doing things above all other more modern options.
Cards in the mail!
Remember how exciting it was to get a letter in the mail when you were a child? Truthfully, I still have that feeling when I get “REAL” mail. It is SO easy to get caught up in the easy way of doing things… trust me I know because I have done it. I actually sent email thank you cards this year because I was that short on time after K’s birthday party!
As a result when Hallmark offered me the chance to participate in the get carded challenge – 7 cards in 7 days – I eagerly accepted.
I was so excited to go through the cards when they arrived on my doorstep! I got 10 super fun cards, and I had fun plans for most of them! While I have to admit I only found homes for 5 of them, I still had a blast filling them with little messages!
The other 5 have been filed away in my card organizer (YES! I have one!) and will be sent off to the perfect person for the perfect reason when the time is right!
So who did I send cards to? Two were sent off to family, including a super fun magic print birthday card for my mother!
(LOVE the hand print & foot print in the card! – They are my boys prints!)
One was hand delivered to a friend who celebrated a birthday in Las Vegas!
Two more were sent off to friends across the country just letting them know I was thinking of them!
I know everyone loved their cards because they took the time to call and tell me!
Sending a card only takes a few dollars and a few minutes, but it could truly end up making someone’s day. I actually got a card from my friend Melissa of Sippy Cup Mom, and I have to tell you – it really brightened my whole mood that day! I still get just as excited to get a card as I did when I was a child.
