Recently I posted about our first day at Disneyland and California Adventure Park, and while writing I realized there was way to much Disney fun for one post! Thanks for coming back and checking out our Day 2 adventures!!
For Day 2 we tried to pack as much into our day as a two year old would allow. After checking himself out in the mirror a few times, Squishy was ready to go!
First up was the Buzz Lightyear ride! I think my hubs loved this one the most! Squishy enjoyed checking out all the colors and watching daddy hit the targets!
Next Squishy was insistent on hitting up the rocket ride! However, this was a bit of what was to come as far as waiting in lines. Squishy just didn’t understand why he had to wait for his turn. It is a hard concept when you are two. Fortunately two older kids kept him mostly occupied. Love the Disney spirit in helping others!
I snuck away from the boys and got to ride the new Star Tours attraction. I have to say having it in 3d, and having several different visuals for the rides made it really cool! You could ride it several times in a row and never have the same ride twice!
Next was Finding Nemo – The submarine ride. This turned out to be one of my favorite rides (a close second behind The Little Mermaid!) It is the longest ride in the Disneyland park at 17 minutes. It was truly amazing, and Squishy LOVED it. He kept yelling, “Fishy” and “Turtle”!
After Nemo we headed over to meet the princesses and were greeted with a super pleasant surprise. Story time with Sleeping Beauty! Squishy needed a moment to get out of the heat, and he was engrossed in Aurora’s tale. This is a must do with any parents of young children.
After catching a second wind during story time we headed over to find Mickey! Squishy had been yelling Mickey any time he was any Mickey symbols or anyone with ears. We knew we had to take him to meet the mouse himself. Mickey’s home was perfect for curious youngsters. Being able to play around the house made waiting in line for the mouse bearable!
He was so excited to finally meet Mickey. (I was too!)
Next up, lunch time! I have to say I am so thrilled Disney has healthy choices all over their park. From fruit, veggies, salads, and sandwiches, eating healthy is easy to do at Disney. Sure they still have the pizza, hotdogs, and treats we have grown to expect from a theme park, but keeping up your energy is much easier with healthy treats.
I had a wonderful sandwich, (which my hubs totally stole half of…) and Squishy munched on some apples and a turkey dog.
Another thing I loved about Disneyland was how many places there were to recycle. Thanks Disney for helping green your parks!
We tried to push our luck and head over to flying Dumbo. However, after diving into a planter of clovers, it became apparent waiting another 60 minutes for the ride wasn’t going to happen. I was excited to hear that there is possibly another Dumbo ride in the works just like they have in Disney World. I hope that happens. Being that young and waiting in the heat is hard work.
So hard, Squishy fell asleep on the walk back to the hotel. After a 3.5 hour nap, he woke up and said, “What Happened? Where’s the Princesses!?” Gotta love the magic of Disney, even when they are sleeping they can’t forget where they are!
It was time for me to head out with the other bloggers there for a fun evening learning even more about Disney. You will have to come back to hear about our amazing evening and find our what the Hubs and Squishy did while I was enjoying more of the adult side of Disney.

Oh, so much fun!! I’ve never actually been to Disneyland (only Disney World), but the next time we’re out in CA I’m going to have to make sure that we go because I think my kids would love it as much as Squishy!
