Affordable Playroom Organization @SauderUSA

September 24, 2014 By Emily 5 Comments

When we picked bought our first home, our 5 year old was 3 months old. We didn’t really look at the home with parents eyes. While we love our home, we quickly realized there was no space for a playroom!

So I converted our formal open plan dining room into a playroom. It worked great for a while, but something happens as your children grow older and you add to your family. Toys multiply. Suddenly our playroom was an eye sore. What we really needed was an affordable playroom organization solution!

Don’t judge me… Here is the playroom before!

When I was given the opportunity to work with Sauder furniture I couldn’t have been more excited. In fact it only took me one visit to their extremely easy to navigate website to pick out what I needed to organize our playroom. I love how affordable their furniture was. It allowed me to really get a lot of affodable playroom organization for less than $250 budget.

Sauder furniture made it easy for me to search by product because I knew I needed organization stuff, and I ended up picking out 3 small bookshelves, 2 adorable chevron ottomans that double as storage, and a tall 5-shelf bookcase and I still came in under budget! Even my husband was shocked that I managed to get all that and not go over budget! At $39 for each 3-shelf bookcase and $29 for the chevron ottomans I couldn’t have found a better price locally if I tried!

They sent me an email letting me know my order was confirmed and another to let me know my order had shipped. My order arrived exactly when they said it would. I love that it was packages with extra protection so as not to dent or ding the bookshelves.

They were as easy to assemble as one can expect for a bookshelf and came with clear directions. Although, if you have young children I would suggest you don’t assemble while they are awake because both my boys wanted to help!

I purchased my fabric cubes separately, and once I got my shelves in place I began to reorganize. Honestly, I don’t know why I waited so long to do this project! I guess I thought it would be more expensive, or harder than it was, but Sauder Woodworking Co. made it really easy!

So without any further ado… Here is my playroom redo!

Little man was the first one to get to discover it because his big brother had to go to school. The look on his face made this whole project worthwhile to me!

He loved being able to crawl up on the storage ottoman’s and play on his train table.

In addition to being affordable I love that Sauder Woodworking Co. creates a sustainable product!

Many Sauder products are manufactured with engineered wood a composite of high quality trimmings and post milling leftovers. How cool is that?!

One more comparison! I’m really just so happy with how it turned out!

Total Cost:

  • 3 shelf bookcase ($39 x 3)
  • Storage Ottoman ($29 x 2)
  • Fabric Squares ($70 purchased at various places)

Total Spent $245

Don’t forget to check back in a couple months to see what I did with the gorgeous 5 shelf bookcase I ordered!

How to you keep your toys organized?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Sauder. The opinions and text are all mine.

LOL, I left a comment above, but I can’t seem to figure out how to change TapInfluence accounts, so it’s under Jenn.
