#Blog4Joplin Sponsor Spotlight – juliethefish designs + Giveaway (WW)

I first came across juliethefish designs randomly. I think I found her shop via another blog, but honestly I can’t really remember. What I can remember is how much I loved what I saw when I visited her etsy store. My hubs was getting ready to deploy again, and I knew he would be gone for our wedding anniversary. I wanted to make sure I got him something special this year, and as soon as I saw it on juliethefish designs, I knew it was perfect. My hubs isn’t a jewelry kinda guy. He doesn’t really even have much in the key-chain department. So when I saw her handstamped coins I knew it was perfect. I wanted something my hubs could hold in the palm of his hand and know I was thinking of him.

I was so impressed with the customer service and the quality of the coin. It was affordable, and Julie even checked with me to make sure I would get want I was looking for before she stamped it.

When #Blog4Joplin came about, I emailed a few people and Julie got back to me right away. She wanted to help in anyway she could, and also wanted to offer my amazing readers a giveaway! I am so grateful to juliethefish designs for helping with the fundraising efforts for Joplin Tornado families. Did you know that we raised $1382 for the Heart of Missouri United Way and $100 of all the money went directly to Joplin families who needed it most! Tell me about yourself and how you started juliethefish designs.

I live in Visalia, California. It’s a sunny city right in the center of the state. I have an amazing husband who supports my compulsion to create. During the day I stay home with my three funny little boys (ages 4, 2, and 2 months) and run my business. At night I teach English as a Second Language to adults. Since I was a little girl I have loved crafts. I took sewing classes, loved to color, paint, and bead the day away. A few years ago one of my friends wore a simple necklace hand stamped with her son’s name. I loved it and thought, “Maybe I could make that.” That’s how the journey of my Etsy shop began.

Where do you look for inspiration?

I am inspired by my customers – their lives, the stories they share, and their occasions for giving. I find inspiration in moms like me who want to display their love for their family with simple, beautiful jewelry.

What is your favorite fashion trend of the moment?

As a busy mommy and business woman I don’t keep up too much with fashion, but I do know about hot jewelry trends! Right now I am loving wax seal style necklaces. They are whimsical and classic. Here’s the one that I sell in my shop: Wax Seal Style Necklace

What are your fashion must haves?

A perfect-fitting pair of jeans, colorful tees, and a well-stocked diaper bag! 🙂

If you had to choose three words to describe your style what would they be?

casual, classic, fun

You have 24 hours to do whatever you want, with whomever you want. Money is no object. Tell me about your day.

I would spend the day with my family in San Gimignano, Italy. We’d eat pasta, pizza, and gelato. We’d walk the cobble stone streets, wander down the old alleys of the town, shop for cute local art, and enjoy the view of the Tuscan valleys and stone rooftops. Ah!

Do you have any pet peeves?

grinding teeth – yikes!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Wow, in 10 years my boys will be so much older (I’ll still be young, of course!) and life will be different I’m sure. I see my family living a simple life in a home filled with love and laughter. I hope juliethefish designs will continue to grow in size and success. Perhaps there’s even a retail space in the future…
