Welcome to Week 43 of Toddler Talk Thursday! Where Family and Life in Las Vegas, Crazy about my Baybah, and My Life as a Sippy Cup Mom talk all things TODDLER!!

Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products. It is a great way to meet other bloggers of toddlers. Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!

Each week the hosts will travel around to each blog to see what topic your suggest for the following week. If we choose your topic – you will be our featured blog.

Keep the GREAT suggestions coming. We have an on-going list we will choose from each week. Some topics are ones we have done in the past – but that doesn’t mean we won’t revisit them!!

This Week’s Topic:
How do you keep your toddler entertained in difficult situations – grocery store, doctors office, etc?

There are a few things I do to ensure we have a successful trip out and about the town.
1. Go at a happy time of the day. (Preferably after breakfast or just after nap.)
2. Bring toys he loves! (Currently Mater and Lightening McQueen seem to make all the rounds with us.)
"Toy Cars" "Rewarding Good Behavior"
3. Bring water and snacks. (I always keep a Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Pouch in my purse.)
4. Reward good behavior. I don’t mind spending a quarter to let him ride the machine, or a $1 to pick a small toy if he has had good behavior.  (This is new for us.  I am in the process of putting together a reward bag for the car.  It will have small treats like stickers or treats he can pick from after a good outing.)
5. If all else fails, we leave.  Yes it kinda sucks, but melt-downs happen.  If nothing else is working we leave.

This link up is for families that have toddlers.  Raising a toddler can be fun, crazy, exciting, and exhausting.  Sharing what works for you could give other families another way to do things.

    Playing the claw game outside the store works for us. I’ll tell Luke that he has to be good and we will play the game. He will be good, and the funny thing is that he doesn’t care about winning the toy, he just wants to push the buttons!
