I am on vacation!
With my two most favorite boys in the whole wide world! {aka The Hubs and The Squishy!}
The hubs returned home July 21st, and by July 29th we were heading to the land of sun and fun!
California is pretty close to Las Vegas, so we jumped in the car and road tripped out to Anaheim.
We stopped at Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner, played in the Dinosaur Park, and jumped back on the road.
After spending a less than sleep filled night (aka Squishy only slept for 6 hours, less than 1/2 his usual) we headed out to the Discovery Science Center.
Squishy had fun, but sure enough around 1pm he melted down big time. Total public tantrum and all. Needless to say, he took a nice long nap when we got back to the hotel.
The next day, we didn’t even chance it. We made sure our day was planned around a nap. Squishy woke up early, played with cars around the hotel room. Mommy and Daddy relaxed, and after a 2 hour nap, we all headed out to Adventure City.
Adventure City is perfect for kids under 10. Squishy had a blast, and the whole park was tailored to kids his size. They even had a Thomas the Train town!
Can you say little boy heaven?
He loved all the rides – and we made sure to hit everyone he could go on!
Today we headed over to Disneyland Hotel a day early to have breakfast with Goofy in Goofy’s Kitchen. The food was crazy yummy, and Squishy LOVED the characters.
After his nap we ventured over to the beach and played in the sand. Squishy loved taking the ferry boat over the Islands. We knew coming to Cali we had to take a trip to the Crab Cooker for some kick butt crab! Can you say YUMMY!! Squishy even enjoyed a mild white fish!
I have to say – if you are ever in the Newport Beach area, be sure to hit up the Crab Cooker for some rocking good seafood!
Tomorrow we are waking up bright and early to head over to Disneyland Hotel and enjoy two full days of Disney Fun! (As part of a Disneyland Bloggers Mixer Event.) I can’t wait to see how much fun my little man has.
Having a child brings out so many memories of vacations I had a youngster. I hope I am able to give all those fabulous memories to my children.
DISNEYLAND – ARE YOU READY FOR US??
PS – These are my boys right now as I sit here typing this. Does life really get better???
(PPS – I am obviously not going to be blogging very much, as I am doing my best to stay unplugged during a much needed family vacation! I will see you all after Blogher11!! Okay, maybe a little before if I find myself wide awake in bed again at 1am!)
