For two days prior to attending Blogher11, my family and I were fortunate enough be invited by Mom Select, BSM Media, and Disney to spend 2.5 days at Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel for a fantastic family vacation.
To say I was excited is like saying the Pope is an important person. I couldn’t wait to see my son’s face when he saw Mickey, Sleeping Beauty, or Flying Dumbo.
We had a blast!
There was so much we loved, I can’t even begin to tell you all of it, but I am sure going to give it a Family and Life in Las Vegas try!
Upon arriving to Disneyland we immediately set out to California Adventure Park. Our first ride was the new The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventures. Ariel’s ride was awesome! My son was seriously mouth and eyes were wide open the whole time!
While trying to figure out what to do next, it became very clear that my son had other plans. Taking a two year old to Disneyland isn’t ideal. But thankfully we were staying at the newly renovated Disneyland hotel, and we were able to head back to the hotel for Squishy’s nap. Within a few minutes we were in our room.
I must say I loved how the renovations mixed modern with the past. The hotel room was modern, comfortable, and all had splashes of Disney Past. The carved headboard was just amazing! Little did we know at that time how amazing.
Our room looked out onto the amazing Disneyland hotel pool. Complete with a monorail water slide. I wish we had one more day there – we would have loved to take advantage of the pool.
After a much needed nap, we were ready to hit the park again! This time we went on a few different rides. Squishy loved Casey jr. Circus Train. A classic ride for the whole family to enjoy.
Pretty soon it was dark and we were escorted to VIP seats to check out Magic Memories and You. This was one of my favorite new Disneyland features. Disney uses pictures that are taken throughout the park that day, and then turn them into an amazing projected montage on the Small World castle. Squishy danced to the whole thing!
We finished out our day and headed back to the hotel. Once we got there we learned that the carved headboard had more to it then we previously realized. It actually lite up and sang!
Squishy kept saying “Again! Again!”, and the Hubs and I were more than happy to indulge him. It really made the room magical. We slept all 3 nights with the fireworks on, and my hubs kept asking me if we could get one in our home!! Leave it to Disney to put magic everywhere across the park.
A special thanks to @Momendeavors from Mom Endeavors for letting me use her video. I couldn’t get mine to download!
Stay tuned for Day 2 coming soon!!
Disclosure: My park tickets, hotel stay, and food were paid for as part of our trip. I received no monetary compensation to write this post, and all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
