Eats & Treats: Homemade Sparkling Frozen Banana Sorbet {#ClearAmerican #Cbias} #ad

August 19, 2011 By Emily 10 Comments

 "Walmart" "Flavored Sparkling Water"

Living in Las Vegas in the summer pretty much only means one thing:

IT’S HOT!  REALLY HOT!

"Las Vegas Weather" "Vegas Summer" "HOT"

The best way to beat the summer heat is with this yummy treat- Homemade Sparkling Frozen Banana Sorbet!

"Walmart" "Flavored Sparkling Water"

I was pregnant with my son during the beginning of the summer months in 2009, and found myself craving a sorbet recipe that my stepmother shared with me.

The more I made it, I found different ways to tweek it until I was in love with it.

However, it wasn’t until I added sparkling flavored water to it that I realized I had perfected the recipe.

Having tried pretty much sparkling flavored water I can honestly tell you Clear American is the leader in the industry for flavor variety and taste.

Clear American really makes the recipe so much more refreshing!

To make Homemade Sparkling Frozen Banana Sorbet you will need to have:

  • 3 Cups Water
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 5 Bananas
  • 1/2 Quart Apricot, Mango, or Pineapple Juice – I used Mango!
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Juice of 2 Oranges
  • Clear American Sparkling Flavored Water.

(I doubled my recipe to have enough on hand for the rest of the hot summer months!!)

Clear American Flavored Water has so many different flavors that would work awesome with this recipe. In fact I couldn’t choose until the last minute!

Check out my This Moment story to see exactly how I made the sorbet, which flavor I ended up using, and exactly how many different choices for flavors you can find at Walmart.

How to make homemade sparkling frozen banana sorbet:
  • In pot combine and boil sugar and water.
  • Peel and mash bananas.
  • Squeeze juice from lemons and oranges into banana mash.
  • Add 1/2 Quart of Mango, Pineapple, or Apricot Juice.
  • Add banana mixture to sugar water – freeze overnight.
  • Once frozen scoop into dish and top with Clear American Sparkling flavored water of choice.
  • EAT. Repeat. Enjoy!

You can find Clear American Sparkling at your local Walmart, on Facebook, and follow them on twitter.  Clear American sparkling flavored water as zero calories!  I love drinking it cold, and my son also loves it when I make Jello with it!

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias, which is a vendor for Cott Beverages Inc., the manufacturer of Clear American® brand beverages.  All opinions and the recipe are my own.

Ooh… looks yummy! I try to cut way back on the sugar… have you tried agave in this drink? Well, I think I must simply try it :o)

Hey thanks Holly. I think I may try messing around with making it taste just as good and using less sugar or a sugar substitute.
