Keep Your Life Safe with First Alert Security Chest #Giveaway

June 22, 2012 By Emily 27 Comments

Do you have a safe in your home?  We do.  I like knowing that I am doing everything I can to help keep our important life documents safe from fire and water damage. Eventually I would like to have one smaller document safe for everyone in our family.  Not only will it keep their important documents and small item safe, but it will help keep them from being confused or lost in someone else’s belongings!

Why should you purchase a residential safe?

While we like to think it will never happen to us, a home is broken into every 14 seconds, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Add to that the more than 380,000 residential fires that wreak havoc on homes each year* and the $2 billion in property damage that is caused by flooding, and it’s no wonder Americans are increasingly concerned about the safety of their homes and belongings. The good news is there is a simple solution to protecting valuables in any of these unexpected situations – a residential safe.

I was sent a First Alert 2013F Security Chest to review. This is a waterproof and fireproof safe that is ideal for document storage and also offers digital media protection.

First Alert Fire Safe

I really like the size and portability of this safe.  The locking feature is nice, so I don’t ever have to remember what code I put into it.  Other features include:

» Clamping style latch with key lock
» Convenient carry handle
» Fire Resistant
» Waterproof even when fully emerged
» Inside dimensions: 3.70 in. high x 11.33 in. wide x 7.09 in. deep
» Fits standard letter size documents
» Digital media protection
» 5-year limited warranty

This is a great, compact way to keep all my legal documents secure. In case of emergency, all I have to do is grab it from the closet and exit my home without scrambling to find important papers.

A secure safe that is fire resistant is always a good thing. I keep all my kids information along with all the grandkids information at my house since the kids are so unsettled and have no permanent home.

I need this safe for my apartment because they are always having workers go into apartments and the windows are going to be replaced in the building soon so there will be workers unsupervised in my apartment. I will keep my external hard drive in it with photos and music and other computer files. Thanks.
