Disney’s Frozen marks a special movie milestone in my son’s life. It’s the first movie that he actively identified music on the radio from and wants to learn the songs to sing a long with. It was as if something clicked when he saw it in the theaters. He has always loved music. He has sung himself to sleep since he was a newborn. Yes, a newborn humming in his bassinet until he fell asleep. Flash forward 4.5 years later he can’t get enough of music. He listens so intently, and learns the songs.
During the day we often listen to Disney radio on Pandora and he goes bananas every time something from Frozen comes on. He loves it. I love it!
He’s not alone either! Thanks to the hundreds of youtube videos of kids singing “Let It Go” Disney has decided to release a sing-along version in more than 1000 theaters nationwide beginning January 31st.
“Frozen’ fans have embraced the film’s original songs and its soundtrack with such passion—there are countless YouTube videos from people singing songs like ‘Let It Go’—we decided to create a version that would celebrate that enthusiasm,” said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s a great opportunity for families to get together and have some fun with these songs.”
Check out this super cool “Let It Go” video done in over 25 languages!
Nominated for two Oscars Frozen is taking the country by storm! Since November 27, the film posted the No. 1 all-time Thanksgiving debut and the largest opening ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. “Frozen,” WDAS’ 53rd feature film, has earned more than $773 million worldwide, including $337` million domestically. The film’s soundtrack was No. 1 in the Billboard top 200 for two straight weeks.
Fans lucky enough to live near California’s Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre are going to be in for a special treat! The “Frozen” sing-along version includes on-stage appearances from the movie’s Elsa prior to each showing, plus snow flurries inside the theater. Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the sing-along version! You can host your own at home with the release of the Digital HD & 3D coming next month on Feb. 25 and Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD & On-Demand March 18. The in-home version of “Frozen” promises continued family fun with a blizzard of never-before-seen bonus extras to complement the film’s gorgeous animation, memorable characters and unforgettable music.
Do you think you’d go to the sing along?

I have a few little girls who I know can not wait!!!
This was one of my favorite Disney movies!
I’m glad this is coming to DVD so soon because I missed it in theaters – I’ve been trying to catch up on all the films I missed being sick in December! Remember back in the day when it took forever for movies to come out on VHS? Now we get them right away and I love it! I’ve heard so many good things about how cute this movie is.
I heard about this! Totally genius idea, since really who isn’t singing along already!
My son really wants to see Frozen. He’s in preschool and things like this are a big deal in their little world. It’s too cute. I know that the songs are really popular, so a sing-along sounds like fun!
We loved Frozen the first time and the kids really really really want to go back–so I guess I will wait until we have the sing along version 🙂
I am still waiting to see this, hopefully in the next few weekends
I have not seen this movie yet, but I have heard a lot of good things about it. The music I have listened to thus far has been great.
Oh my kids would love this. We enjoy sing alongs and dancing around together!
I have heard so many great things about this movie, I can’t wait to see it myself
A sing along sounds like such a fun idea! You know everyone wants to…or is singing along anyway and now they have permission. Too fun!
This is one of my favorite Disney films that are geared towards the kids. My daughter loves it too!
My daughter is so excited. She loves Frozen and has been singing the songs all of the time
