It is a tradition in my little family to make these sweet Boo-nilla Halloween Milkshakes every year! We started my daughters first Halloween and have kept it going. We are big milkshake lovers also so it was a perfect fit for us!

This is such an easy treat to make – you might be making it every Halloween season too!

You will need:

  • Clear cups (I suggest plastic for the little ones!)
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Microwaveable bowl
  • A spoon
  • Small Paintbrush (an unused one…you don’t want paint in your treat!)
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Milk
  • Blender

The first thing to do is to melt a couple tablespoons of chocolate chips in a microwaveable bowl. I do this by heating it in the microwave in short 5-10 second increments, stirring each time. Once the chocolate is nice and melty take the paintbrush and paint the ghost eyes and mouth on the INSIDE of the cup.

My daughter loves painting her ghost face on the cup! What I love about this treat is that no matter what the ghost face looks like, it will be adorable! Kids are happy because it mixes art in with ice-cream! Let the cups sit for a few minutes so that the chocolate hardens.

If you are in a hurry you can stick those ghosts in the freezer for a minute or so! It doesn’t take long at room temp and should be about ready by the time the milkshake is ready to be poured!

To make the milkshake put in a few scoops of ice-cream into a blender. Add a half of a cup or so of milk and blend until smooth! The amounts here are depending on personal taste! If you prefer creamier where you may need to use a spoon, do less milk. If you like more liquidy where you could easily use a straw use more! Just check for your desired consistency before pouring!

Once it is the consistency you like, pour it in the ghost cups!

That’s all there is to it! Enjoy this spooky treat!
