Are you desperately searching for something to distract your little ones from wanting to listen to, or watch, Frozen for the hundred-millionth time this today? Okay, admittedly listening to them sing is always pretty cute, but Disney has something new for your family to fall in love with!
Big Hero 6 is made by the same people who created Frozen and Wreck it Ralph, and will keep your kids on the edge of their seats and wanting to see it over and over again.
Big Hero 6 is a funny, heartwarming, and inspirational story about a 14-year-old robotics prodigy and his group of science “nerd” friends. Following the traditional Disney story arc, after a personal tragedy, Hiro Hamada finds himself fighting against an evil criminal who is out to destroy the city. With the help of his brother’s mild mannered healthcare companion robot, Baymax, and his friends, he sets out to save San Fransokyo. Using his robotics knowledge he is able to “upgrade” Baymax, himself, and his friends.
This movie will make you laugh, cry, and want to cheer out loud for this lovable band of outsiders. Baymax will quickly make his way into your heart with his calm and reassuring ways, even when he is fighting evil. His sense of humor is so sweet and innocent he will have you laughing long after the movie is over.
My 5 year old did not look away from the screen once. He was so fascinated by the robots he wanted to go home and build his own. We find ourselves referencing the movie on a daily basis and can’t wait to see it again!
Like most Disney movies there is a bit of sadness and a little darkness in the movie. If you have a child who is really sensitive or very easily scared be aware that this movie deals with death. The “villain” can be a bit scary at times, but my 5 year old had no problem with either of those.
What are your weekend movie plans?
Big Hero 6 opens everywhere 11/07/14!

My husband has been talking about this movie a lot. I’m guessing his friends are talking about it at school. We’ll have to check it out.
I really liked the frozen movie as an adult so I think that this will be one my kids will like! They are afraid of the dark or sadness in disney movies. I think they have gotten used to it because they have been watching all the classics.
