“I have been compensated by Pedialyte for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.”
Thanks to bacteria and germs, you can never determine when your kids will get sick. They can be fine one day and the next day, you are taking care of them because they are ill. Recently, my boys were both struck with the bug and I was so happy to have the Pedialyte Freezer Pops! I also got a bit of his sickness and was able to get back to 100% hydration thanks to the Pedialyte Powder Packs.
Don’t Get Caught Unprepared!
Anytime we get the stomach flu like that I can’t help but think of the time my first son and I both got it back when he was only 8 months old. My husband was deployed overseas and on the way home from a mother/baby class my son threw up multiple times all over the car and the car seat. After I got him home and cleaned up, I immediately stripped his car seat to wash it off. While it was in the wash, my son got worse. I’d never seen a baby that sick. I called our Pediatrician and he recommended that I watch for wet diapers and try to re-hydrate him with Pedialyte. I asked if it needed to be Pedialyte because I didn’t have any on hand. He said that Pedialyte is medically formulated with an optimal balance of sugar and sodium to prevent dehydration due to vomiting and diarrhea so that was why he recommended it. With no family in town, and it being nearly 10 pm at night I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t take the baby to the store because the car seat wasn’t dry. So I called my neighbors, and they kindly went to the store and bought us some Pedialyte. Ever since that day, I learned to always keep it on hand because you never know when you will need it. Check out some of our favorite products from Pedialyte.
Pedialyte Freezer Pops
These guys have come in handy more than you can imagine. Pedialyte Freezer Pops are a great way to prevent dehydration when you need your child to digest fluids. The freezer pops come in Grape, Blue Raspberry, Cherry, and Orange. My kids personally love the Blue Raspberry, but in my opinion, all of the flavors are kid friendly and adult approved. The Pedialyte Freezer Pops are also super easy to eat. You simply remove the pops from the freezer, cut off the top, and eat. These pops are also okay to use not frozen, you just pour them into a glass and drink. I have to agree with Pedialyte when they say the flavors are best when frozen.
His favorite flavor – Blue Raspberry!
Pedialyte Powder Packs
A convenient way for us to stay prepared against dehydration are the Pedialyte Powder Packs. These are the most awesome little packs you can have in your house. Whenever the bug season hits, you really don’t know when it’s going to happen, right? I simply pick these up with my regular grocery store shopping, they are true lifesavers. There are several flavors, but we love the Strawberry Lemonade Pedialyte Power Packs! Just like the freezer pops, these are best served cold. It’s also really simple to put together. Just add one powder pack to 16 ounces of water and simply stir to dissolve. Keep in mind that these are not for use for children under one year of age.
I think it’s super important to be prepared whenever bug season hits. And I know you other parents will agree when I say the bug catches everyone off guard. You can pick it up from most stores, but we have found Walmart has the lowest prices. At Walmart the Pedialyte is located in the baby section usually at the end of the aisle so you can find it quickly.
You can tell it’s flu season – a lot of the Pedialyte was sold out when we went to stock up on it, which is a good reason to buy it when you don’t need it so you’ll have it when you do! We wanted to get more Powder Packs, but picked up some liquid instead.
Do yourself a favor and get prepared now. That way you don’t have to do a midnight run (or have to call your neighbor to help) to the store to get supplies! You can have hydration supplies from Pedialyte right on hand.
Here is an Ibotta offer that you can use to purchase your kids favorite flavors of Pedialyte.
Try Pedialyte in liquid, powder or Freezer Pops today!
What is your child’s favorite flavor?

Confession- Last year I had a stomach bug and I could not keep anything in me for days. The doctor recommended Pedialyte and I’d thought it was just for ‘toddlers’ but it really helped me stay hydrated while severely sick. I also never knew how many varieties there were!

Pedialyte is a life saver! When you become a mother you quickly learn to keep some items on hand all the time. Band Aids, Children’s pain reliever & Pedilyte are always on my list. Like you said, the bug usually catches you unprepared. 😉

My little boy was suffered same problem couple of months ago, I consulted with my family doctor and he prescribed some medicine. My son released the problem. But after read your blog I am thinking that Pedialyte is a very good solution. Most importantly it has different types and flavor.
